āHarlan Crow has long been passionate about the importance of quality education and giving back to those less fortunate, especially at-risk youth,ā the statement said. āItās disappointing that those with partisan political interests would try to turn helping at-risk youth with tuition assistance into something nefarious or political.ā
So, why was this kid āat-riskā?
Because Clarence had been his legal guardian, and heād been living with Clarence and Ginni, for 10 years? Yeah, a Supreme Court Justiceās household will do that to a kid every time.
On Judge Judy, when a defendant says, āit was a gift, not a loan,ā Judyās response is always, āHow did the plaintiff know you needed the money unless you told him? Describe the conversation.ā How was Crowe aware that Thomas wanted to send his kid to an expensive boarding school that he couldnāt afford unless he told him, in hopes of getting the funds? I would be interested in hearing about that conversation. The āfamily tripsā are obviously corrupt, but this seems a step up and looks like solicitation. Thomas needs to be impeached.
No question about it. The Supreme Court of the United States of America is no better than a whorehouse. No wonder they always side with the rich and powerful. They never side with the poor, the weak or the environment; because obviously those have nothing to give them. I would give Ketanji Brown Jackson the benefit of the doubt as she has been recently appointed, none to the rest. They told us who they were in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_v._United_States
Unbridled and blatant corruption, conflicts of interest, potential bribery (ok, actual bribery) and potential tax fraud. Regular folks would not get away with any of this, but Iām fairly certain Thomas will because we have a dysfunctional justice system that gives a pass to the wealthy and well connected. In addition, Merrick the Meek never wants that kind of smoke. Heās not a visionary or reformist AG. Heās not corrupt; he keeps the lights on; but Garland is ultimately a weather vane AG, looking at the politics of the situation before moving to act. Thatās what folks mean when they say someone is an āinstitutionalistā. He doesnāt work for you, me or even the WH that hired him. He works to protect the institutionās ārepā, often at the expense of you and me. The institutionās interest and the publicās interest donāt align when it comes to equal justice under the law.
OK, how many childrenās educations has he paid for in the past? How much is he āgiving backā? This should be discoverable. Inquiring minds want to know.
Tip of the iceberg. Keep digging. Folks like Thomas are always for sale. The nastier they are the more corrupt they are. Keep diggingā¦thereās a big one out there.
Iām not going to quote your whole post, but Iād like to know exactly how the Attorney General should go about prosecuting a sitting Supreme Court justice. Iāll wait for an answer.
Thanks to ProPublica. Outstanding work on this subject. They seem to be the best investigative journalists we can hope for. Why is that? I canāt wait until they take on Squee K. And Chief Potted Plant also too.
