Corruption thy name is Clarence.

ā€œHarlan Crow has long been passionate about the importance of quality education and giving back to those less fortunate, especially at-risk youth,ā€ the statement said. ā€œItā€™s disappointing that those with partisan political interests would try to turn helping at-risk youth with tuition assistance into something nefarious or political.ā€

So, why was this kid ā€˜at-riskā€™?

Because Clarence had been his legal guardian, and heā€™d been living with Clarence and Ginni, for 10 years? Yeah, a Supreme Court Justiceā€™s household will do that to a kid every time.

On Judge Judy, when a defendant says, ā€œit was a gift, not a loan,ā€ Judyā€™s response is always, ā€œHow did the plaintiff know you needed the money unless you told him? Describe the conversation.ā€ How was Crowe aware that Thomas wanted to send his kid to an expensive boarding school that he couldnā€™t afford unless he told him, in hopes of getting the funds? I would be interested in hearing about that conversation. The ā€œfamily tripsā€ are obviously corrupt, but this seems a step up and looks like solicitation. Thomas needs to be impeached.

Ok the question at this point is if there is any part of Clarence Thomasā€™s life that Crow does not own?

No question about it. The Supreme Court of the United States of America is no better than a whorehouse. No wonder they always side with the rich and powerful. They never side with the poor, the weak or the environment; because obviously those have nothing to give them. I would give Ketanji Brown Jackson the benefit of the doubt as she has been recently appointed, none to the rest. They told us who they were in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_v._United_States

Judge Judy has also said: "Donā€™t pee on my leg and tell me itā€™s raining!"

Applies to the Supreme Courtā€™s position that they donā€™t need ethics standards.

And did clarence and ginni put him at such risk that only a boarding school with $6000 a month tuition could help him?

Quid Pro Quo.

I think $6,000 a month could easily help more than one at-risk child.

Of course, but children from wealthy families are very fragile.

I am sure he lets Clarence have Ginni all to himself.

Unbridled and blatant corruption, conflicts of interest, potential bribery (ok, actual bribery) and potential tax fraud. Regular folks would not get away with any of this, but Iā€™m fairly certain Thomas will because we have a dysfunctional justice system that gives a pass to the wealthy and well connected. In addition, Merrick the Meek never wants that kind of smoke. Heā€™s not a visionary or reformist AG. Heā€™s not corrupt; he keeps the lights on; but Garland is ultimately a weather vane AG, looking at the politics of the situation before moving to act. Thatā€™s what folks mean when they say someone is an ā€˜institutionalistā€™. He doesnā€™t work for you, me or even the WH that hired him. He works to protect the institutionā€™s ā€˜repā€™, often at the expense of you and me. The institutionā€™s interest and the publicā€™s interest donā€™t align when it comes to equal justice under the law.

OK, how many childrenā€™s educations has he paid for in the past? How much is he ā€œgiving backā€? This should be discoverable. Inquiring minds want to know.

Tip of the iceberg. Keep digging. Folks like Thomas are always for sale. The nastier they are the more corrupt they are. Keep diggingā€¦thereā€™s a big one out there.

That money could buy a lot of Coke.

Iā€™m not going to quote your whole post, but Iā€™d like to know exactly how the Attorney General should go about prosecuting a sitting Supreme Court justice. Iā€™ll wait for an answer.

Now, are we sure this is an actual ā€œgrand nephewā€ (BTW, how Caesar-esque can you get here?) and not an actual ā€œlove childā€?

I am pretty sure the kid was just on vacation at that school. With good friends. As kids do. Nothing to see here.

Thanks to ProPublica. Outstanding work on this subject. They seem to be the best investigative journalists we can hope for. Why is that? I canā€™t wait until they take on Squee K. And Chief Potted Plant also too.
