Cipollone Subpoenaed By Federal Grand Jury In Major Development In DOJ Jan. 6 Probe

I’m not expecting any revelations or significance out of this subpoena, especially given that he’s trying to write the rules of engagement.

Biden will most likely waive it and the Right will scream interference, wash, rinse and repeat.

In any case, Cipollone will probably say nothing of interest, although it’s a good get.

Might not yet be time to subpoena Pence…

But we’re almost there.

Cipollone and his legal team are reportedly expected to attempt to negotiate with the feds over the terms of the ex-White House officials’ appearance, claiming concerns about executive privilege.
… … … …
Executive privilege for who? trump hasn’t got that now. Mebbe he meant client - lawyer privacy?

If trump is worried that’s a good thing.

Not sure people under the microscope have much to worry about. Evidently they’re under no requirement to preserve any records. They can wipe their phones with impunity. Take the 5th. Perjure themselves in open court. It’s one big IOKIYAR party.

The Republican Biglaw firms have been shunning Trump for years. Ratting him out may be the only path back into them given that he tainted himself by associating with Trump in first place.

Seems laws apply to other folk but not republicans higher up the “food chain” meaning if one got a diet coke and KFC for that fat ass former guy …well then they’re safe from any legal consequence… …

My understanding (not a lawyer) is that the White House counsel office does not provide attorney client privilege for personal matters of the President nor, or course, criminal activity.

Still, there could be, in my understanding, privilege for matters of official national business, and that might leave some grey areas in question.

This is the part where I tediously remind people that DoJ usually doesn’t do grand jury subpoenas early in an investigation.

I assume the DOJ wants to establish in a deposition that Cipollone told Trump that what he wanted to do was illegal, either with regard to the fake electors fraud or attempts to interfere with the EC count on the 6th.

Cipollone hinted as much in the J6 hearing but wouldn’t say what Trump’s response was, citing executive privilege. That might be important for a jury trial.

When Trump graduated from overcharging Jersey casino customers for parking to POTUS things changed.

Let’s be frank here, and call it what it is.

I had no respect for trump during his business years scamming folk in his casinos and far far way far less for his performance as POTUS. In my humble opinion he should be held accountable for the near million dead on his watch due to covid. His egregious incompetence led to their deaths. And that’s just for starters.
I await long over due comeuppance for him.

I tend to think his privilege claims during his 1/6C testimony were much more about not wanting to talk about some things on camera that would later be broadcast to the world. Since the 1/6C really just wanted to get his cooperative testimony and get it quickly, they were willing to entertain his privilege claims. That won’t work with a grand jury.

The million COVID deaths (while we, as a nation, mourn the 300,000+ combat WWII deaths)**

Maybe someone can explain to me why this is not more commonly at least discussed !?&@#!!

**which Trump accomplished in a fraction of the time

You kiddin’? TFG or one of his minions has already been on with the phone with Cipollone, reminding him of the dirt they have on him from some past life.

Cipollone is already ruined.

No one has ever gotten to the bottom of this “COVID” thing. Whatever it is. If it is a real thing. No one knows.
