China Will Give $2 Billion To Respond To Global Coronavirus Crisis

GENEVA (AP) — China will provide $2 billion over two years to fight the coronavirus pandemic and the economic fallout from it, President Xi Jinping said Monday, rallying around the World Health Organization even as the United States has slashed funding for the U.N. health agency and sought to undermine its credibility.

Goid for China. The US should restore our contribution.

Needless to say, not a few of these countries have leaders who would like to engage in a blame sharing plan. Looking at you in particular, UK, Italy, Spain.

A vacuum in global leadership will always be filled…by someone…and not necessarily someone you would favour. One of those unintended consequences of a decision by that man-child in the WH.

In a speech to the World Health Assembly, Xi said China had provided all relevant outbreak data to WHO and other countries, including the virus’s genetic sequence, “in a most timely fashion.”

The Chinese government’s official pronouncements must be taken with salt but the bit about sequencing the virus and sharing that information is quite true.

Without that sequencing, work on vaccines would not have begun as soon as it did here in the US.

Usually a newly-powerful country has to compete for influence, rather than having the door opened as former leaders head for the exit.

I have to say that after giving the world the virus in the first place, 2 billion ain’t shit. But it’s still better than the asshole”snshit in the White House.

how long before trump calls it an “absolute worst thing that ever happened”, bribing the WHO just to make him look useless.
