Well huh. China “reopens,” and the economy does not in fact come roaring back very, very, quickly, because people are still scared of dying like a big bunch of death-fearing pansies? Not gonna be that way for us.

Right you are…at least, in the “Dumbfuckistan” region of ‘Murica

…and well they should be wary. This is a foreshadowing of what will happen with our econimies. Recovery will be slow…halting…and painful.

I guess they haven’t heard Senator Kennedy’s economic plan of “Some of you losers are going to have to die so that the rest of us can go to Olive Garden again.”

My fear is we won’t be as smart as the Chinese people. Some of us will believe everything is OK because Trump says so. A lot of them will get sick. Many will die. There will a really bad series of hotspots. Maybe South Dakota gets hit hard and the 3 ventilators in some rural hospital are needed by 12 patients. People will be shocked and the rest of us will be afraid until we get a Covid-19 vaccination. The economy will suffer for a generation. Reopening too soon is fraught with bad things. There are very few upsides to reopening too soon.

Offensive.
Especially for those of us in islands of sanity like New Mexico.

This is a good chart to see, because it looks like most of the world is getting a handle on the spread. Even the US, the worst pandemic-managed country in the world, is leveling out. But it is odd that at one of the daily shit shows the fool on the hill said WE would be helping OTHER countries. We’re the remedial section!

Went grocery shopping this morning with the wife, first time in 3 1/2 weeks. Took advantage of senior shopping hours, had masks and gloves on, and no crowds.

Everyone else was suitably attired as far as mask and gloves, with the exception of one (1) 20-something year old guy with no mask, gloves or concept of social distancing. He ended up leaving the store just ahead of us.

Would anyone here like to guess what the bumper sticker he had on his pick-up truck was?

No, no I would not.

I work with trump lovers. It’s weird sometimes. I’ll make small talk saying, “boy I wonder when this will improve”. They will, with a straight face, say “Well Trump really wants to open the country up at the end of the month so things are probably going to improve soon.” Amazing.

It needs to be updated by adding New Mexico, Virginia, NC, maybe Ohio, PA, and subtracting Wisconsin.
