I think the joke is “if you believe that I have a bridge to sell you”… Based on my several trips to China let me offer an opinion. It’s a fucking gross country full of robots and authoritarians. The food sucks, the air stinks and the demeanor of the people makes NYC seem like the set for Mr. Roberts. And they lie, cheat and steal. You wanna buy a bridge?

A New York City physician who says he is working as an ER physician in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) treating COVID19 patients, took to YouTube to explain that he believes patients with COVID19 symptoms are being treated incorrectly with mechanical ventilators, and that the ventilators are doing more harm than good.
In short, I believe we are treating the wrong disease, and I fear that this misguided treatment will lead to a tremendous amount of harm to a great number of people in a very short time… I feel compelled to give this information out.
COVID-19 lung disease, as far as I can see, is not a pneumonia and should not be treated as one.
My cousin who is an MD in NO sent me an article almost a month ago that reported that people on ventilators were getting damage from them and that damage may not be reversible.
This is a blatant lie. Rather than CoVid being under control in China, I imagine that it’s spreading throughout the country.
This was touched upon in the NPR article about ventilator use that aired last week. However, it was seen as a side effect for some patients. Again, if the virus has advanced to the point that you can no longer breath on your own and must be ventilated to get enough oxygen to be kept alive, there is a 50% or greater chance that the infection is too far advanced and your body cannot fight it anyway.

So, that ought to be a big red flag. Unless we want to believe in a massive conspiracy amongst all other ER docs trying to keep this vital information secret. Only this one brave doctor is willing to tell the truth!
Please, do you have a link to that article? Does the doctor suggest an alternative therapy when a patient is no longer able to get enough oxygen through voluntary breathing?

Yes and no. For one, sure they could lie, and wouldn’t have moral problems with that, on the other hand, while information flow is controlled, it is not totally suppressed. When things were bad you saw the online videos of bodies on streets of Wuhan. They could lie here and there, but unlike some leaders I don’t think Chinese ones want to look blatantly ridiculous. The story they tell can’t get too much detached from reality. What ever the exact death count, I don’t see any reason to doubt the main story: that they have got the outbreak under control, at least for now.
Both China and Hong Kong experimented with easing up in mid-March and had to clamp down again.
Any large gathering at this time can start a new cycle.
As for lying, Chinese state propaganda is a master at it. They fudged the case numbers from the get-go.
Reprinting the news reports of an authoritarian regime does nothing but magnify their deceptions and obscures the challenges to eliminate this novel virus from the world population. There has been a systematic campaign by the CCP to obscure the origins of the virus, implying that it originated from outside of the mainland. Domestic news reports repeat the story that the virus s at present only detected on foreign arrivals. The reports do pointedly not mention that more tests are being conducted at points of entry than inside the city of Wuhan and that 90% of the foreign arrivals are, in fact, returning PRC nationals, mostly university students who most likely have been carrying the virus since their departure prior to the lunar new festival. The CCP is preparing to scapegoat contaminated foreigners when viral rebounds occur, sacrificing their own citizens to a preventable novel virus pandemic to maintain their lock on political power.
I understand that TPM is tempted to use inepensive wire copy to help tell the global story of this pandemic but a danger in doing so is that it allows the CCP to foster a metanarrative that is unburdened by facts and, more importantly, further promotes the myth that the PRC is just the first victim like all nations of this pandemic
@redpill (I hope this results in an alert to you; I dunno how TPM’s alerts work), I owe you and the other forum members an apology. I knee-jerked a response due to my own inability to set aside mounting frustration and anger at utter bullshit that gets passed around. You didn’t deserve such a harsh response and of course your information was serious and credible.
