Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot and New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Sunday expressed their dismay over President Trump’s announcement last week that he will expand a federal “surge” of law enforcement into the Windy City and Albuquerque.
All of this is at least partly related to Trump’s public humiliation as a coward who beat a hasty retreat into a bunker, all because peaceful protesters had gathered in Lafayette Park.
Much of what he has done since then, including the infamous holding of the backward Bible in front of a church after gassing peaceful protesters has been a reaction to that. Would be authoritarians hate being mocked, laughed at, and ridiculed.

The gap between the rhetoric of D officials and ordinary Ds is staggering. Regular people are not going to the barricades and taking pepper spray and rubber bullets because the “timing is suspect.”

Whenever the mayors and governors are asked about supporting Trump’s game, they should come out of the gate stating clearly that what Trump is doing is simply stirring up violent theatre for the express purpose of trying (however ludicrously) to get elected in November, period. Playing along with interviewer’s dumb questioning about the little green men quelling violence is just playing into Trump.

I heard this morning the Royal Addled Brainiac wants to send troops to Detroit too, if he hasn’t already. He really is desperately trying to start shit just to get a rise out of the locals. I actually wish he golfed every fucking day until November 3rd at this point.
Trump does NOT give a f=ck about the Constitution. That alone is anti-American. That alone makes it traitorous behavior since he swore an oath to defend the Constitution. We’ve watched justice bastardized, truth denied at every turn, the dignity of the office he squats in trashed, over half of we Americans sh*t upon in so many ways… He may be the greatest liar and hypocrite in the history of humankind, he may be a sociopath, but does that give him license to do what he does? Does he deserve rest from prosecution, scorn, and ridicule today, or tomorrow or when he gets evicted?
While he may not go quietly into the night next January with his twitter tantrums spewing hatred and lies, nor will we. We are America. He is not. He is Trump, for Trump.
