She’ll write a book or two, serve on some boards, do the pundit and VSP circuit, join a think tank like AEI or even CFR, and basically build up her brand as a wise and responsible VSP older statesperson with gravitas and all that, in the Pappy Bush, Dick Cheney, Nixon mold. But which in her case will be deserved, she’s earned it here.
OMG, a Repub who puts out that whole sober and wise leader image, but actually merits it! When was the last time that happened? Ike? Javits? Romney’s dad?
She has moderated her views about gay people and mended her relationship with her sister. I’m not saying that is because of the influence of Democrats, but she is willing and able to change some things.
By then Trump will be in prison, republican voters would not remember ever voting for him and Cruz, Rubio, Cotton, DiSatan and the rest of them will be remained every second of all the length they went to defend and suck up the convicted traitor.
I still think AZ has a better chance in the general, but it is going to be close I’m afraid.
Then she has my vote for president in 2025.
I’ve grown to admire her. Still hate her politics and policy positions, but she’s intelligent and has a spine and a core.
The “traditional conservative” Rs really f’ed up in alienating her and Kinzinger. They were the future of the non-Trumpist party. Now all the Rs have is idiots with no regard for reality or democracy — too many to name at this point.

Wow. God bless her. Of course she’s right. There are choices I’ve made that involved sacrifices, but I regret none of them. There was something—pride, kindness, love—that made the sacrifice worth it.
