Three Floridians were charged Tuesday in relation to an alleged 2020 scheme to run sham candidates in local elections, part of a convoluted plot with murky links to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
Hmmm. And up in MIchigan the same group of signature gatherers “worked” for two different candidates who both ended up with way high numbers of false signatures. 'Can’t help but believe that those signature gatherers might have actually been working for the third candidate who now has a clear path forward.
Well, this is the Republican brand. Cheat by every means necessary. Running fake candidates is not new for them; Republicans bankrolled Green candidates in years past, to siphon votes from the Democratic candidate. But now, apparently, they don’t even feel the need to run an actual person!
This matches with the Michigan signature fraud racket, which looks as if one R candidate colluded with a Republican signature gathering outfit so that the signatures collected for his opponents were mostly fraudulent. (Just an allegation so far, but very believeable).
Of course, the media will “both sides” these stories to make it seem as if Democratic behavior is equivalent, if not worse.
Charges filed for an election fraud scheme in…wait for it…2020. This is why Repubs keep trying it. They know they have a good chance of it working and if it doesn’t, no one pays for it until years after the election. They’ve gamed the system. The only solution is hardcore election reform, but we’ll never get to that because…they’ve gamed the system.
The right-wing Newsmax network hired former Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren to lead their weeknight lineup, reportedly bumping former White House press secretary Sean Spicer out of his slot.
