The top official at the Department of Homeland Security will resign effective at midnight, a DHS official confirmed to TPM following multiple reports of the ouster.
One day notice won’t look good on his resume… hell, I’m sure it won’t matter because he won’t be able to get another job.

He’ll have no trouble finding a high-paying do nothing job. There is a vast Republican enterprise of media, advocacy groups, and think tanks with high paying jobs for loyalists. Given his loyalty to Trump and his do-nothing approach to the President’s attack on the Capitol, he will probably end up running one of those enterprises. Sick, I know, but this the Republican way.
On another note: I’m guessing that before Trump leaves office, he pardons most of the insurrectionists. They were doing his bidding. The pardon power is nearly unlimited. He has no shame. Decent people will be outraged, but the racist scum and other ignoranti who adore him will love it.
