More than anything, the people need time. Not only is this not begin granted, but everyone’s having the rug pulled out from under them daily when they realize the work they planned to do over the next day or two is now ASAP, etc. It’s just textbook bad management, whoever’s at the wheel. It’s panic-management.

I’m sure they are. At the street level, it all just comes down as THIS IS THE NEW DIRECTIVE! No rationale, no accountability. And everybody freaks out. Constant stress and pressure, and no good news.

If this reporting is accurate with the leaders at the Census saying that they were not made aware, it would appear once again the administratively they have erred again. Just like before it does not sound like any ordinary process was followed.
The statement about changing the policy to do a different kind of count when the Bureau was already stretched dealing with the normal work plus the pandemic is a logical one. Similar to Trumps appointment to head the Post Office and then going to declare no overtime in the middle of an election and a pandemic where more people are using the postal service then ever before (not just for voting). How does making the Post office less efficient, less better at delivering things on time to the American people and others do our people or government good? How does overtasking the Bureau make good governance?
It doesn’t! That is what the GOP does, complain about the government, yet run for office and then drive us into a ditch to prove that government is bad (except for the military thing). Is there really a country that does not look like Russia, China, NK that only spends its money and government towards defense and militarization? No, because it is a bad look. It is undemocratic. And everyday we keep the GOP people in office, the will ensure more Americans go hungry, more Americans lose access to health care (let alone affordability), more Americans get shot by their fellow Americans (2nd amendment), more Americans get shot by the police . . . there heads are buried in the sand and they are hoping . . . I don’t know what they hope for.

I am scheduled for training as an enumerator next week. I guess I will be going door to door here in deep-red rural Texas.
If my trainers don’t spell out trump’s edict on immigrants, I am sure the cultists answering the door will set me straight.
