WHY can they do this? We have a count every 10 years…one would THINK corrupt mofos couldn’t RUSH it at their whim…but I guess those days are gone.
They’re not really rushing it at their whim - federal law (Title 13) requires the Secretary of Commerce to deliver the apportionment data to the President within 9 months after the census date, which was April 1, 2020. They’re simply no longer pursuing their previously-announced plan to push Congress for a law allowing them to delay the results another 4 months.

This has to be vulnerable to a lawsuit. I expect the ACLU and the attorneys general of states likely to lose representation to file in several federal courts.

In Montana, formal hiring just started last weekend but the week-long training process has not, at least where I am.

That law should be passed in January 2021 and I’d say it’s time to start over. Just start from scratch. You can’t trust anything this administration has done.

Well, yes and no. They announced their intention to ask for a delay, and then they adjusted their hiring and enumeration schedules to comport with that delay. The hiring schedules haven’t changed, pretty much only the time available for enumeration. So that would be a rush.
