The Centers for Disease Control restored to its website on Monday guidance saying that COVID-19 can spread via the air, weeks after similar guidance abruptly disappeared from the agency’s web page hours after first appearing.
This is important. Not just droplets with a close range, which fall within a relatively short period of time, but aerosolized and continuing to be suspended. Much higher risk as we head into cold weather and indoor recirculated air. It means that air hours later will transmit the virus, not just close immediate exposure. Also means that the 15 minute rule becomes more relevant.
Meanwhile in other news: Enablers continue to refuse to tell Trump no, acknowledging, at this point, the most viable strategy for Trump is too die before the election which would allow him to assert that he didn’t actually lose the election.
The CDC was thoroughly discredited by Faux Noose and the rest of 45’s stoogarama so don’t expect the base to suddenly start wearing masks and distancing. Their indoctrination has proven deadly. It will not reverse quickly.
Does anyone beside me remember the furor over Katie Miller, a Pence aid that tested positive for COVID back in May? The reason why a bring it up is that Trump was angered because of all the testing, and how could she have COVID because they test everybody.
“She hasn’t come into contact with me. She’s spent some time with the vice president,” Trump added.
“This is why the whole concept of tests aren’t necessarily great,” the president said. “The tests are perfect, but something can happen between a test where it’s good and then something happens, and all of a sudden she was tested very recently and tested negative, and then today I guess for some
reason she tested positive.”
