Acting U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Mark Morgan on Sunday had to explain why sweeping immigration raids haven’t affected President Donald Trump’s companies despite multiplereports of those companies hiring undocumented immigrants.
Why not simply try to elicit a promise that we’ll hear about it if any Trump properties are investigated and/or raided? Tapper states it as fact that the Trump org. currently has illegals, but, for all we know, Trump got the memo and cleaned things up.
“immigration agencies’ major increases in raids, including the ones in Mississippi last week that led to a record 680 arrests,”
I think a simple check of the guest registration of 45* 's International Hotel will show that none of the owners of those facilities stayed there during the past year.
Why maybe because everything and everyone in touches becomes dirty and corrupt. This administration will go down in history as the worst and most corrupt but remember the GOP was there with Trump on the slide downhill.
Good for Tapper. Sounds like he was on a roll today.
By Trump’s own definition, he’s a criminal for hiring undocumented immigrants at his various companies. Either he’s to be brought to justice or face condemnation for incredible hypocrisy. How will he justify this to his base?
There have been multiple whistle-blower reports, including from undocumented workers themselves, at various Trump owned businesses and properties. That’s known as an admission against one’s own interest, and as such carries extra probative weight. This reporting has been public for some time. The absence of investigatve results from immigration agencies to date following up on these reports is pretty damning evidence that yes, in fact, a blind eye has been turned.
I would like to know why nobody in CBP thought about the kids of the people they were arresting at their jobs. Did CBP think that because someone was undocumented that they would not have kids? There were babies involved in this fiasco. A kid was left in a parking lot looking for his parent. I think CBP’s raid was to catch undocumented people. But it was also fully intended to cause panic for their children. And it did not matter that most of the children involved in this are American citizens. One fellow who tried to intervene got tazed to the ground and CBP was going to immediately deport him without the slightest due process except that it turned out the guy is an American citizen. At first CBP did not care what his status was. They had to have it impressed on them that they were about to be in real legal hurt if they did not stop.
This is far from the only time CBP, ICE, and BP have ignored due process. In fact ignoring the law is a feature among that bunch.
