“Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can’t we use them,” Scarborough said on his “Morning Joe” program.
Cawthorn is, if anything, an opportunist catering to the only audience who will hear him. When I saw his name and his words in this article, I was alerted to the actual state of this audience.
Taking that in, combined with the state of Ukraine and the madman attacking it, tells me that the Finn was mostly right in his rant:
The goal was to take the U.S. from within
There is a strong consensus that there were a number of religious leaders that resisted the Roman occupation. More than likely, the Jesus of the New Testament is some combination of these. There is a fascinating book that links the Biblical Jesus to the Essenes (aka the Zealots) and posits that Jesus was most likely based on the para-militaries that fought a guerilla war against the Romans. It also re-lensed Paul as a Roman agent sent to infiltrate and demilitarize the early church.
An exegetical interpretation of the parable of the Cursing of the Fig Tree actually supports this. There’s a lot of information hidden in the New Testament through the use of language tricks such as puns. The word for “fig” is one letter off from the word for the concealed knife that was a favorite of the Zealots. Jesus wasn’t cursing the tree for not bearing fruit, but instead cursing Jews who refused to take up arms against the Romans.
ETA: That said, when I say the biblical Jesus didn’t exist, I mean that if you accept all the “facts” of the gospels, there is zero evidence that the person described therein actually existed.

First you say there’s a strong consensus about religious leaders resisting the Roman occupation, and then you have this “more than likely.” Are you saying that’s part of the consensus, or are we into your own opinion at this point?
At any rate, don’t take my word for the general acceptance of the historicity of the general outlines of the story.
Ah! General outlines of the story. That is very different from saying that the biblical Jesus existed.
They’re saying the biblical Jesus existed.
Can one imagine anything more idiotic?
Honestly, as they say, it beggars the imagination.
The only science that MAGA supporters accept is Newtonian physics: they won’t step out of a 10th floor window. They consider everything else to be subject to manipulation by Soros-funded leftists scientists with a ‘One World’ agenda.
Then explain the miracle of chocolate eggs appearing in random spots out on the lawn each year, or the miracle of presents appearing under pine trees.
Sheesh. Blasphemer.
Poor Devin Nunes left congress to run it. Boo Hoo Moo.
AniTfa HAs poisonED the TRUcker convoy iN dC with COvid!!
He had to know it would fail.
Objection.
Scientific claims require a double-blind study to be performed.
He thinks that counters having been Putin’s vassal.
“Presto!! DONE!!”
“Russia’s Coast” – particularly its northern coast – is exactly where all the nuclear subs are already supposed to be cruising. They’re the most rapid means of making Russia’s nukes and command structure go bye-bye glowy.
And that’s the whole point, isn’t it?
I’d hardly consider Nunes a competent executive since he can’t win a case against a pretend COW.
“Why callest thou me good?”
Matthew 19:17
The physical existence of Jesus is moot. It simply doesn’t matter. Only “The Word” matters.
