Setting aside the non-existence of a historical Jesus, that dude was doing a righteous deed in the temple, a proto Occupy Wallstreet protest against corruption and grift. Greitens doesn’t follow that god, by any means. If Greitens were at the crucifixion, he would have been hammering in the nails. Habba was the best lawyer TFG could afford. Perhaps she thought just the exposure of working for him (FOR NOTHING) would bring in the big bucks down the road. I think 90%+ of current GOP pols are just cynical opportunists. They used to spout platitudes like ‘fiscal responsibility’, ‘states rights’ and ‘patriotism’. Now, it is clear that, as Stuart Stevens wrote, it was “All a lie”. They were just saying what they thought would get them elected in their gerrymandered districts. Now they say whatever they think the MAGA base wants to hear (‘Owning the libs’). However, I increasingly think that 5-10% are downright nuts. Stupid people may be often be wrong, but they don’t routinely make statements that are borderline psychopathic. I believe this metaphor has been used before, but the current GOP has truly unleashed “Monsters from the Id”.

That’s certainly true. I’m thinking in particular of Trump. I’ve noticed over and over again how unbelievably concrete his thinking is. He thinks moving nuclear subs closer to Russia means something, that you could bluff that way and make good things happen. None of it makes any sense. I honestly question whether he understands anything beyond nuclear weapons being a bigger firecracker than conventional ones. The concept of mutual assured destruction and its implications for confrontations between strategic nuclear powers seems beyond his grasp.

Trump has reportedly complained about the fumbled rollout of TRUTH.
The Daily Beast, citing sources apparently close to Trump, reported he recently asked “What the fuck is going on” with the app.
What the fuck is going on, is that you were too cheap to use anything but a free peer-to-peer social media platform that can’t possibly scale to Twitter size even if it was successful. It’s not running on a cloud service like AWS, so you’re outsourcing video content and that slows the site down. And you hired a moron with no tech experience as CEO.
It’s a wasteland, but I’m sure you’re making money somewhere with the meme stock transactions.
