Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson on Sunday wouldn’t say whether he agrees with President Trump’s claim that he’s “done more for the black community than any other president” since Abraham Lincoln left office in 1865.
The problem is that UnCle BeN does not know who Honest Abe Lincoln was. He does not know what the word “honest” means, as it was not in his bible, and Lincoln is a tunnel he vaguely remembers going through at one time, but is not listed in that bible.
Langford bucks Trump today, and now Carson? There are so many canaries flying out of coal mines I feel like I’m watching a remake of Hitchcock’s The Birds. Because they be angry.
Tim Scott, Uncle Ben and Clarence Thomas all went through doors the entrance of which have been paid for with the sacrifice of the very people they individually and collectively disparage.
What I see reading his comments is that Carson is still not willing to contradict Trump’s comments, but tries to dance around without saying is that Trump is a bullshit artist. Trump will say and do anything to get a rise out of the left.
But we can not not answer back. I would have loved to hear George pivot and have Carson explain exactly how “opportunity zones” help Black and Hispanic Americans. What exactly has Trump’s prison reforms accomplished, and much money has gone to HBCUs and where did the money come from? Because if he doesn’t know the details then how are we going to know the details? Oh and when did this happen, his 1st year to 2nd?
Ben Carson is the Stephen character from Django Unchained. Ratting out his fellow slaves so that they will be tortured, raped and murdered by Master. Ben’s Master is the vicious racist Trump.
Back in the Day during the Second Reconstruction (dovetailed with the Modern Civil Rights Movement) many of us relaxed…thinking that the battle had been won,
People like Carson, Scott and Thomas are low hanging fruit when people like me start “assigning blame” for our predicament.
The truth is, that it was people like me who relaxed** in the 1980s,1990s, and 2000s, particularly when the elections of Clinton and Obama made too many of us feel that racism had beat a retreat. In a way, it was understandable for some…The feeling was helped along by genuine progress.
I think that if nothing else has been learned from the Age of Trump it is this:
Vigilance is the price of Liberty
**A while back, I made an apology to my son (born in the 1980s) for his having to grow up in the 1990s with no way to combat FOX News, yet having to–as a grown man–have his life threatened with dire conditions should the people who watch FOX News have their way.
Their position should be that as a whole, they’re one of the most proactive administrations in presidential history (debatable but still).
However, that claim is garbage, because this version of ‘1600’ either has to be pressured to do the right thing or Trump diminishes any accomplishments by claiming ‘lead singer’ status.
