The career government classification expert who was initially tasked with reviewing John Bolton’s book manuscript suggested this week that the process was politicized by the White House. The expert also alleged she had been pressured but ultimately refused to sign a misleading court declaration in the litigation that the Justice Department has since brought against President Trump’s former national security adviser.

The expert also alleged she had been pressured but ultimately refused to sign a misleading court declaration in the litigation that the Justice Department has since brought against President Trump’s former national security adviser.
The claims were made in a letter from an attorney representing the expert, Ellen Knight.
Why is it always have to be a women that shows any integrity? Why do women disregard their careers and pensions so badly?
“Sketchy” is not declaring the $500 in cash you got for a side job. The crimes committed by Fat Nixon and his deplorable enablers are at least a couple of galaxies and dimensions beyond “sketchy”.
I stopped reading after seeing Michael Ellis’ name.
On March 29, 2017, The New York Times reported that Ellis and Ezra Cohen-Watnick were involved in the leaking of intelligence documents to Representative Devin Nunes, chair of the House Intelligence Committee.[5] The following day, The Washington Post reported that John Eisenberg was also involved.[6] In April 2017 the Associated Press quoted a U.S. official as saying that although Cohen-Watnick had access to those kinds of intelligence materials, he did not play a role in helping Nunes gain access to the documents. The official instead suggested that Ellis had shared the documents.[7] According to the U.S. official, Cohen-Watnick was not involved in showing the material to Nunes, did not clear Nunes onto the White House grounds, did not review the material with Nunes, and was not even aware that the material was going to be shared with Chairman Nunes.[5][6]
Didn’t Ellis’ name come up in the impeachment hearings? Oh wait yes it did.
So this is just one of all these violations, from the Hatch Act to numerous instances of political interference by the White House that have been reported by whistleblowers.
The DOJ is too busy gaming out unfounded indictments of the Biden family, and planning to challenge votes cast by mail. They would probably prosecute the whistleblowers if they had the time.
The Senate long ago stopped functioning.
The House is worried about appearing political during election season, in a charming nod to Frank Capra’s version of Washington DC.
And, to reiterate item #1, the Executive branch is breaking laws (and norms!) everywhere.
So we’re passengers in a car driven recklessly by a sociopath, and there are no brakes.
You ask why it is always, implying only, women who show any integrity. It isn’t. Just ask Lt Col. Alexander Vindman (retired), whose US Army career was ended because his moral integrity led him to tell the truth, his assurance to his father notwithstanding.
It’s worse than that. They’re planning to use it as an excuse to ask state legislatures to disregard the votes and instead install their own slates of electors to represent Trump’s counter-factual “will of the people.”
As Knight was conducting her review, the letter said, Bolton’s lawyer asked that she prioritize the book’s Ukraine chapter so that it potentially could be released publicly while the Senate impeachment trial was underway.
If only it had been. The Guardians Of Pandemics senators would look like even bigger corrupt schmucks than they already do.
The amount of house cleaning that needs to take place in our intel agencies after Trump is gone is going to take a decade (if not longer) to fully account for. While I think a lot will spill once he’s removed, the GOP corruption is deep, and just what we’ve seen publicly has been beyond measure since he entered office.
I"m told constantly that it won’t matter. He’ll either go to the courts and win there or certain states will direct their electors to vote for him instead of Biden.
