The Justice System is torturously slow (especially given the legal assets on the Other Side)ā¦and the GOP is highly skilled at using that communications/actions/process grindingly slow lulls to their advantage.
I have followed this siteās postings when some flicker of action against Team Trump is written aboutā¦and people can get gleeful.
But, as I stated, the System is slow. Team Trump and the GOP will use the rights and privileges granted to us in our Legal System in order to march us down the road to fascism. It is disheartening, but the only thing my complaints about that on sites like this would accomplish is engendering more despair.
Despair after a series of Herculean efforts on our part last Fall and Winterā¦efforts like those of people who stood in long lines to get Warnock and Ossoff into the U.S. Senate.
If I were to pick one story every day going forward to chart our inevitable collapse into an autocratic police state, this is the story I would pick for today.
When nothing gets punished, including an attempted sabotage of a free election, we are floating into shark-infested waters. Increased threats against lawmakers is being driven by a particular contingent of our leaders, and the biggest price anyone has paid is a loss of committee assignments.
It is amazing how many times more police is thought to be the answer to a problem.
