If you thought rigging the elections was the only thing they’re going to do to get rid of Dem candidates who might win, think again.

We used to take pride in the fact that political violence wasn’t an accepted part of American politics. Sure, it occurred sometimes, but in the context of The Bad Old Days surrounding the Civil War, right? We had peaceful succession via free elections!

With the trumping up of the Once Great Republican Party (OGP), that seems to be out the window. Elections are meaningless – unless they win. Elected officials are open targets. Literally.

Unless this is stopped, the United States will be a “DINO”: Democracy in Name Only.

They better carefully screen any officers newly hired to staff these field offices.

and that the “caseload has basically exploded” since then. Capitol Police have said that in 2021 alone, threats against members were up 107 percent compared to the previous year.

The danger for Democratic lawmakers isn’t just on the outside, but also the inside. Collegiality left the building long ago. Now you have Republican congresspeople actively fomenting violence against Democrats, quite literally letting terrorists into their sanctuary as in Oregon.

This is exactly what Russia would do. Trump will tell you that. And Paul Gosar. When he’s not chewing his toenails.

It’s a sad day when you can’t let your Congressional representative know what you’re thinking by beating them senseless with a crutch.

No kidding. Josh’s blog about Rump’s martyrdom of Ashli Babbet (sp), implying it was a Capitol Police officer who is responsible, makes it clear that his words are still dangerous.

(“By the way, who shot Ashli Babbitt? Who shot Ashli Babbitt? We all saw the hand. We saw the gun … Now they don’t want to give the name, but people know the name. People know where he came from.”)

Did I read it was a member of Pence’s security detail?

ETA This has been floated but not in a way I’d say is reliable. NBC said it was a member of the Capitol police and no charges were recommended.

Why are the Capitol Police setting up field offices? The FBI already has the offices and is better equipped to obtain the intel.

DOJ already set up a task force to protect election officials, because if the high number of threats they’re receiving.

I’m not sure. I haven’t read that.

Time has passed, but the idea of a self professed Incel still befuddles me. Even the naming of a group of people like this, somehow linked together is amazing. Shouldn’t they be occupying their time at the lowest of low in nude strip joints, spiking their neer bear and making sure their rains coats are carefully arranged?
