The Capitol Police are investigating an incident involving allegations that Rep. Russ Fulcher (R-ID) had assaulted a female officer as he passed through metal detectors outside of the House chamber last month, the HuffPost reported late Wednesday.

We all know citizens charged with assault from the Great Aryan States (Montana, Idaho, Oregon) are let off with a slap on the wrist.
Greg Gianforte, a Montana Republican, was sentenced on Monday to 40 hours of community service and 20 hours of anger management classes for assaulting a reporter the night before he won a seat in the House of Representatives last month.

Just for the record, we’re governed by Democrats (control both the legislature and the governorship) and the majority of our House reps and both Senators are Democrats. Maybe you were thinking of Wyoming.

(I also have to wonder how the USCP have been instructed to behave in these situations. I wonder if they don’t want to have to deal with GOP allegations of being “manhandled” so they are being less aggressive in their responses than they ordinarily would be.)
