Cannon Officially Dismisses Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Suit

Monday marked the end of an era as U.S. district judge Aileen Cannon officially dismissed Donald Trump’s civil lawsuit following the raid on Mar-a-Lago to seize government documents.

“This case is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction,” she wrote in the brief order.

Were she not a Trumpeteer she would feel humiliated. But she is, so she’s not.

Cannon humiliated. Now, on to some Supreme Court Justices who deserve humiliation…

Let the investigation proceed full-speed ahead.

"repudiated the amenable district judge?

Where to start? Anyway. I expect the AI that put this collection of words together doesn’t charge much. So there’s that.

"But while Trump failed to cajole the appellate court into shielding him from the probe, he did win himself over three and a half months of pointless delay.

The legal system provides people like Trump countless opportunities to gum up the works with frivolous suits and filings. I doubt Trump has exhausted all the avenues available to further thwart and complicate Smith’s investigation of him.

Never should’ve happened in the first place.

She’s not a true Trumper, though - a true disciple would’ve doubled-down on the wrongheadedness and continued the suit.

Right or wrong, the delay is always the thing. Make the opposition spend its scarce money, drag out proceedings, and the odds are, they’ll give up. Since Trump rarely bothers to pay his attorneys, he gets off scot free. So much winning!

Until he put himself up against the full might and deep pockets of the Federal government.

Not again! The “raid” word. It was not a fucking raid. It was a polite, announced execution of a warrant that Trump et all were given prior notice of. The FBI agents did not wear their “FBI” jackets and called the MaL security detail when they were 1 hour out to let them know when they’d be there.

Stop with the GOP lingo TPM. It is beneath you.

She got in the foxhole with Trump. She’ll somehow be richly rewarded by a future GOP Prez.

I look forward to Judge Cannon decamping to the FL legislature, which will be a much better fit for her corrupt ideology.

From the article:

[ The three-judge panel, dominated by Trump appointees, repudiated the amenable district judge for attempting to create out of thin air a new standard of solicitude for former presidents, for filling in arguments when Trump’s camp failed to think of any and for trying to create a blueprint that, if successful, would have mapped out how subjects of criminal investigations could stymie their probes.] (emphasis added)

Very important, in the immediate future and in the long run

I hope she was crying pissed when she wrote that order.

After the summer raid, Trump and his lawyers had tossed handfuls of legal spaghetti at the wall, hoping to find an argument that would stick.

I heard from an inside source that it was ketchup, not spaghetti.

Cannon eagerly aided and abetted him in that project to the point she made his lawyers’ argument for them. Pity there does not seem to be some active code of ethics that deals with such transgressions.

OT but this graphic seems to deal with our current political extremes rather well (can’t seem to make it show so need to click).
