I saw one of these “protestors” interviewed on the BBC World News last night. He sounded like a three-year-old. “I don’t wanna get a jab. I don’t want anybody telling me to wear a mask. I don’t want to be told what to do.” What a bunch of petulant, small-minded, man-children. They’ve learned well from Faux News and Cheeto Mussolini. From the gripes onto the graft.

The spokesman also cribbed a quote from Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing, saying that Trudeau has a “.22 caliber mind in a .357 world.”
Before you get too cocky with your .357, make sure the other side isn’t actually something like a .223 Remington (which evolved into the 5.56 mm round used in the M-16).

And even if we’re talking strictly speaking about the .22 caliber shells, the comparison’s kind of banal. It’s two things of differing relative sizes, one famously small and one with a reputation for oomph. Pfft. Nothing clever or original about it, no pleasant shock of recognition when you see the comparison maps onto the thing you’re talking about pretty well.

I can’t speak to Canadian laws, but I’m concerned as to why the authorities haven’t shut this down by making some arrests and impounding the trucks. Blocking a border crossing seems like an issue that the federal authorities in Canada, and not just the Ottawa police, would want to address.
At the same time, we’ve seen the right wing take over Federal and Oregon state property many times and those issues have gone on for months. The unwillingness of the more liberal political parties to use legitimate force to resolve issues caused by white people is a real issue.

Wisdom and civic leadership are not the things that come to my mind when I think “trucker”. How selfish can a group be? What have the citizens of Ottawa, Alberta and Vancouver ever done to them but keep them in business? Yet these tough guys can’t get a vaccination for the good of their country and consider that patriotism. Kids take that vax by the millions.
Let’s not pretend this is about freedom from a mandate. It’s a planted bitch that’s an excuse to rabble rouse. I’m sure these assholes drove on the right side of the road on their way to these cities. A mandate. I’m sure they have CDL’s and logs as well. Also mandates. Insurance? A mandate.
Fuck all this freedom crap. This is an excuse to let their inner asshole selves out and they’re going to run with that.
