I’m sure DeVos’ protestors will get right on this.

It won’t be long now before this administration achieves a coup on immigration: all of the world’s countries will close their borders to us.

Interesting that means until the end of May so why the push to “open” the U.S. economy now?

If these polls are correct, there is no desire to restart the economy in a meaningful way. People are wary.

Canada’s numbers are lower. We have Bonnie Henry in charge and she gives a talk everyday. She was known for wearing different shoes, so there is now a shoe named after her.

I read this morning that while restaurants are open in Wuhan, nobody is going to them.

Hell yes people are wary and rightly so.

Sad to see how the Trump Pandemic has affected China so badly…

So we’ll just contain the collateral damage in our country when Trump and his pet Red State Governors ‘defy the guidelines’ and open everything? Aren’t we nice?

I was calmly reading this article when I came across this sentence:
"Truck drivers are critical as they supply grocery stores and medical goods in both directions. "
Then I scrolled up - yep (AP).

I can just see their editorial meetings -
" See hear, Smith - this is a fine article about dentists- but when you mention the word “toothbrushes” you forgot to explain what they are - fix it. And this piece on the history of the wheel Jones, I read the entire thing, and although some fine work about the Egyptians, you neglected to say that wheels ‘go round’ - what am I paying you people for?"
(Editor takes another sip of 2% milk while reporters busily make notes)

I live in Canada and I am pretty sure Trudeau (who is very popular these days) would be in big trouble if he agreed to open the border. What goes on in the US is highly visible up here compared to our visibility down there. Lately Canadians are staring in disbelief at armed demonstrations by extremist loons to ‘open things up’ cheered on by Trump.

As long as you wear a mask the whole time you are in the restaurant, you should be fine…:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Exactly, why?

Wish I knew because I don’t care what they do it isn’t going to send the economy back into a roaring bull market.

Yes. I work with a Canadian that has been ‘stuck’ in the US since the shutdown. He used to go home every weekend but he’s afraid he won’t get back in if he leaves. He is constantly sending us articles from ‘the other side’…we commiserate together since we are out here on the ‘Left Coast’.
