House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) joined a growing chorus of Democrats and Republicans alike in calling for the release of a transcript report from Michael Flynn’s infamous late 2016 conversations with Sergey Kislyak, then the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
No one really believes that if the transcript were exculpatory, they wouldn’t have already blasted it out far and wide. No one including Chuck Grassley, the most disingenuous human to walk the earth.
Pressure is growing on the Trump administration to release the Kislyak transcripts from both sides of the Flynn debate. Flynn’s defenders believe it will exonerate the former National Security Advisor.
So they think he plead guilty to lying to the FBI even though he didn’t do anything wrong? I guess that answers the “stupid or evil” question for some of these clowns.
”Pressure is growing on the Trump administration to“ has to be the most overused journalistic trope besides not calling Trump’s lies: lies.
What pressure? Sternly worded letters to administration officials that not only DGAF but know that there won’t be any repercussions for ignoring Congress?
“Yo, Sergey. Tell Vlad we’re totally cool with knee-capping NATO, pulling out of Syria so you can have it, making Ukraine defenseless, laundering your thuggish oligarchs’ ill-gotten money, fomenting class and race wars here in the US so that the country will collapse, and bankrupting our country with overwhelming debt and deficits. Just don’t release the VHS tapes, OK?”
Sounds reasonable. I mean, if Schiff and all the rest of discover that Flynn said something like, “I hate to get ahead of myself, but I was wondering if there would be interest on your side in setting up an international commission to help stray kittens. We could start laying the groundwork, and so forth. Most people don’t know this about me but I worry about the kittens a lot.” Then we could all agree that yes, we’d been hounding the poor innocent dear and really ought to apologize. If it’s not about kittens, well then that would be interesting too.
