Look for the Mango Mussolini to initiate a nationwide “stay at home” order in November. :rage:

Pennsylvania’s Governor, Tom Wolf, also issued a similar order for the state last night. All “non-life sustaining” businesses are closed.

On the bright side, we all have permission to blame it on China.

I see Cadet Bone Spurs has now instituted plans for food shortages to go along with his breathtakingly bungled COVID-19 response and his collapsed economy — finish killing off the agricultural sector.

“If I can’t kill 'em with that Chinese virus,” he told his fawning minions, “maybe I can starve 'em to death.”

“You truly are a brilliant stable genius,” special advisor to the president Jared “Full Metal Jackass” Kushner said, gently stroking his Sphynx cat, Fluffy. “Didn’t your uncle teach at MIT?”

I suspect Governor Inslee will probably order the same thing for Washington state in the next few days.

BTW I went to the store yesterday and it was nothing short of surreal. You can really see what those (empty) shelves are made of.

Also, our local health department announced to more cases yesterday, bringing the total to three, one fatal. Of course, we have little to no testing like everywhere else.

Yep. I got the call last night to not go into work today. I’m a purchaser, and I allocate raw materials at a large printing/manufacturing plant. I really can’t work from home since I work so closely with the pressmen, and if the presses aren’t running, we don’t need raw materials. I thought we would be exempt since we print medical and banking forms, but we’re not. I have several truckloads of paper and other material already scheduled to deliver today and next week.

I’m home waiting to hear from my manager and the CEO about what comes next.

ETA: My part-time job closed last week. Understandably, all public libraries were ordered to close. I feel so badly for the people whose only access to a computer and the internet is their public library.

does this mean I can’t drive from the Carson Valley over to Woodford’s to get my lottery tickets?:skull:

Back in the day Chinese scientists could not publish anything without acknowledging the greatness of Chairman Mao. But once the praise was given the remainder of the papers was first rate science. China went on to become equal to or better than any other nation.

Any fool that can say nice things about our mentally diseased occupant meets the two criteria for appointment to critical positions. Competence is an actual disqualifier in the post Regan “government is the problem” era.

Now you have me wondering how many truckers are sitting on loads they can’t deliver?

ETA I remember how frustrating it was to have sit on one for a day or a weekend. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be stuck with one indefinitely.

I also work in the print industry doing design and prepress work for a small print shop that is part of a larger engineering firm. I can do some work from home, but some things I can’t. Plus all our external clients are closed, sooooo… not quite sure how this is gonna shake out.

I was wondering when you’d let us know you were sent home. The writing was on the wall for your field. I hope you don’t have hard times.

Businesses were ordered to close by 8:00 pm last night. I got the call around 6:30 pm.

Same here. I was just lucky I had taken my laptop home and I didn’t have to go back in to the office to get it!

Nothing to worry about. tRump will come to the rescue whenever you run out of stuff.

Anyone that thought tRump’s complacency and total inability to lead was only going to affect Puerto Ricans and those with black and brown skin, clearly had their heads in the sand.

Many of our clients are still open - hospitals, banks, etc. We run very large jobs - millions of forms and checks, voter registration cards, etc…

I don’t know what comes next.
