Can I get a show of hands from all those who believe this is normal and acceptable behavior?

Sure, sure, all the necessary information to know to dump particular stocks was in the public realm when you dumped yours, you were just the only one smart enough to figure that out from “public” information.

In MAGA-land that’s called being a savvy investor. So what if the rest of us know it as Insider Trading?

These guys are smarter than us. If we were smarter we’d be on intelligence committees too, getting sensitive info on which to make decisions.

But these guys are so under compensated for all the sacrifices they make on our behalf. They are entitled to more. Just ask them. They’ll tell you.

So, a, the DOJ needs to charge Burr, and b, how do you stonewall a subpoena? Methinks that should be addressed also, like NOW. You either respond to the subpoena, or you go to jail, and how much money is in your bank accounts should not be applicable. Hire all the lawyers you want, from the jailhouse.

The part that struck me is that Biden reappointed Burr’s brother-in-law to a position overseeing union workers. That he reappointed him AT ALL is outrageous much less to a labor relations position.
THIS is why I despise the democrats. They cannot do anything right. Biden hasn’t even gotten rid of Lejoy at the USPS!
Expect the dems to lose it ALL in 2022 followed by Trump’s return on 2024. Your best bet is emigration if you can afford it. This country is a shithole of growing fascism.

I think NC requires that a resigned Senator has to be replaced by someone of the same party. I’m sure Cooper could find a RINO or a fake GOPer to take the spot and who would pledge allegiance to Schumer and the Dem caucus. Burr should resign. He should be prosecuted too.

I’m old enough to remember when ethical was defined as “to avoid even the appearance of impropriety”

This is about as close as you can get to a memo on the sales order saying “just talked to my senator brother with insider info. He said he lied to the American people and that I should sell everything.”

For this senator in this broken senate, yes.

Burr is a repeat, repeat and repeat offender in this kind of thing. He was the one who, when the economy was crashing in 2008, sent his wife around to every ATM in the area to draw out the max cash allowed. the rest of us did not find out about the banks crashing for two more days. He has been caught doing insider trading before.
Typical elitist Rethug.

Prove me wrong. When have dems done ANYTHING of substance since the 60s? In 2006 midterms dems got 6 million more votes in congressional races than republicans. Then in 2008 they got a dem president. Instead of going on the offensive and rightfully blaming republicans for the economic collapse of 2008 that followed nearing 40 years of republican economic policy dominance, 12 years of a republican Congress, 8 years of which had a republican president, they caved on EVERYTHING and that narcissist loser Obama smothered Occupy Wall Street in its crib.
He thought he was some “Great Uniter” who would get us all to hold hands and sing softly to the children about “reaching across the aisle.” Worst president of my lifetime. But he’s fine, living it up on book deals and the adoration of liberals who are afraid to criticize a do-nothing black president.
Cowards stay the course and let the dems do NOTHING but fundraise off of them.

Troll. Ignore.

Deirdre Hamilton is the replacement on the board for the appointment Biden did not make, liar. ‘Prove you wrong’?
What kind of moron starts out with demanding someone prove a negative. You’re too stupid to be of any use. Please move to Russia. Thanks.

Headline from January 19:

Justice Dept. won’t charge Sen. Burr over stock sales

By ERIC TUCKER and MARY CLARE JALONICK

This was Trump’s last day in power. Garland needs to reopen the investigation. Garland needs to do something or he needs to step aside and let someone who will protect the nation do the job.

From the piece:
“In 2017, President Donald Trump appointed Fauth to the three-person board, a federal agency that facilitates labor-management relations within the nation’s railroad and airline industries. President Joe Biden reappointed him to the board.
