In early April last year, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo joined one of his governor brother’s midday pandemic press conferences and recounted in vivid detail a fever dream he had while laid low with the virus.
I’m mystified by the point of this article. I get the headline, but then a long, long, LONG article detailing their media profile with a bunch of unrelated facts?
You had a point but then it got completely lost. Favoritism got the brother a test. What does that have to do with their already existing fame and how they used their “bromance” to boost their profiles? Or how Chris Cuomo documented his covid illness? Really confused.
I have to assume that Zoe Richards was assigned to this story – buy some misguided, obsessed-with-andrew-cuomo editor. This is what happens when news organizations are run out of New York City – I supposed we’d get the equivalent level of coverage if TPM HQ was in Montpelier VT.
It’s beyond ridiculous. And the notion that I should begrudge this man for doing whatever was necessary to potentially save his little brother’s life is just stupid.
I’ve always been a soft guy,
I am the love gov,
I’m a cool dude in a loose mood,
you know that,
you know that,
Yeah, you know that,
I just say let it go,
just go, just go and go
with the flow baby,
you know that,
Yeah, you know that,
As my spouse frequently says, “this is a local story for New York”. Problem is, when all our media folks live in NY, they over-emphasize their own stories.
I have not been following this saga all that closely – the Cuomo brothers, the COVID-19 diaries, the massively muscled younger brother and the older Trump-like brother who was for a time the only piece of flotsam to latch onto amid the jetsom of a rotting ship of state, who became the current poster boy for obnoxious political gamesmanship and looking down women’s fronts and clasping their flinching faces in a manly death-grip of old-fashioned December-May sexual harrassment and control-and-domination power exploitation – trying to find my way to the end of this sentence – okay, here it is – but I’m just glad the tutu-clad older brother was brandishing a covid vaccine wand and not the other kind of wand.
This crap-fest began yesterday with the (who else) NYT RED BREAKING-NEWS BANNER…now…TPM’s 3-peat?
Journalist(?) are seemingly in search of a new addiction since Trump left…very few had to actually write…just copy & paste Trump-Tweets throughout a 24 hr news cycle… Really: The well-connected…hooking-up their kinfolk with COVID tests and vaccines… “I declare.” In-the-mean-time- I’m waiting patiently while folks who can invent diseases and chronic conditions (without verification) can get a vaccine…All because my 65th B-day is a couple of months away…and I’m healthy. Such is life.
Just more proof of: “If it bleeds, it leads” mentality.
If you don’t have a “scandal” you may actually have to do some “journalism” and work to get a story, but why do that when you can FOX it up with “some say” and “OUTRAGE AT XXXXXX” stories. Those are lazy, easy to pump out, and make your editor happy because they get clicks.
This, and the ridiculous questions at today’s “Presidential Press Conference” show that THE PRESS IS THE PROBLEM.
And did we ever get even one about the Nevada Democratic Party issues? TPM covered the implosion of the Lincoln Project as lightly and briefly as they could, but not with multiple articles.
Guess establishment Ds are in hate on Cuomo mode? You have your marching orders TPM readers…
I want to know how Chris Christie and Rudy received their “Covid Presidential cocktails” last fall? Did Trump make calls or pull any favors? The public should know right?
What do we do when in a few days we learn that the story is “not exactly” as originally reported? Like, when the “source” starts to hedge, changes their story or just turns out not to actually exist.
