Live Updates: After G7 Leaders Praise U.S.-Iran Deal, Trump Threatens Iran Again
President Trump was set to speak soon at the summit. He has hailed the preliminary agreement with Iran, even as he acknowledged “nobody knows” what’s in it. The U.S. would resume attacks if Iran doesn’t “behave” in implementing the deal, he said.

The world has gone mad in their obsequious surrender to Trump. World leaders and heads of state are praising Trump for brokering a deal they haven’t even seen. Some damned journalist should look one of them in the eye and ask “You’re praising Trump’s deal. What particular language in the agreement do you find most helpful?”
And again, shouldn’t the guys blowing up the boat be getting the survivors instead of notifiying somebody who isn’t there?
I checked for confirmation, there’s no indication that the survivors were found. They weren’t found 3 weeks ago either.
“It’s a very strong deal.” he said. “Nobody knows what it is, but it’s very strong.
Trump’s comment today on Iran deal. He is using the term nobody to describe himself.
I don’t know who Bret Stephens is, but go man go
I won’t spend too much time dragging him for ever believing in Chump in the first place. He makes a big deal about Chump dodging Vietnam with bone spurs, and that he is vain, and weak-willed, and weak…but that was all known in 2016. So, somehow Stephens thought that was the kind of guy he wanted in charge. That Chump absolutely conformed to type, and REVEALED his character proves Stephens was a fool to ever back him in any way.
But, Stephens has a big media platform evidently and he should GO GO GO with this new awakening.

" With the headline reading, “Iran Found Trump’s Bonespur,” he jumped right in with, “War is a contest of wills. And in that contest, the hard men of Tehran appear to have scored a decisive victory over the vain man of Washington.”
“I write this as someone who supported the war from the outset and hoped to see Trump carry it through to a decisive result: if not regime change, then at least a deal in which Iran would be forced to relinquish all of its enrichment capabilities and access to the Strait was unfettered,” he continued before adding, “But Trump got spooked after the regime didn’t instantly crumble and energy prices shot up. He then effectively abandoned the war he had started after less than six weeks of sustained combat — combat in which the United States lost fewer service members than in the 1983 invasion of Grenada. He compounded the error with an almost comical succession of military threats and last-minute climb-downs, each of them signaling indecision and weakness to Iranian adversaries practiced in the study of weakness.”
Pointedly writing that the Iranian leadership, “took the measure of Trump’s courage. What it found was a bone spur,” he noted, “Though the details of the deal remain murky — a telling indicator of its likely shoddiness, since the administration would surely trumpet the terms of a strong agreement — it’s already clear that Trump has betrayed his promise to the Iranian people, after they were massacred in January to quell antigovernment protests.”
According to the conservative columnist, Trump’s deal is leading to his “worst betrayal.”
…
“This cease-fire neither ends nor eases that threat; it hardens and magnifies it. It removes the one point of U.S. leverage over Iran — the naval blockade of its ports — before there’s any negotiation over its nuclear program, which the Iranians will almost surely drag out until Trump is out of office.”
After writing, “This is a debacle,” he predicted, “It gives Iran’s leaders something even more vital: The confidence that, whatever Trump may threaten, they can withstand the most any American president or Israeli prime minister can throw at them.”
Next? Maybe Trump orders curtains to surround the Reflecting Pool.
Also, J.D. Vance chose the contractor that did the work.
Sheesh, how do you even wade through that list to arrive at the “worst betrayal”? Trump’s betrayals would fill a library of books.
Right, and how did you ever assume Chump wouldn’t betray you? That IS who he IS.
I think banishment to a desert island is appropriate for anyone saying “If only I had known…”
Broadview 6 thing is nuts. Government offering to pay attorney fees. when does that ever happen?
They’re playing nice to try to help Ukraine. They know Trump is a clown and they do not respect him, but they still respect the capabilities and resources of the US. There’s no need to follow-up on the “deal,” everyone knows it’s preposterous.
President Trump certainly didn’t care how his behavior reflected on President El-Sisi and I’d be surprised if Trump even remembered that someone else was on stage with him. It’s a shame that one of the few things that Trump clearly hangs onto despite the increasing dementia issues is his hatred for President Obama, there’s so much damage that can be traced to that situation.
You could have stopped reading there.
Trump said he was cancelling today’s Senate Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Clayton’s nomination.
Gee, I didn’t know the president could call all the shots in both houses of congress. So now he is the majority leader in the senate and the speaker of the house.
Have you noticed that the participants at the G7 are ignoring CF? Nobody wants to engage in a conversation with him. Yesterday he was reminded that the round table is not the octogan.
