Cuomo: “That’s right: I’m re-signing. I’m signing up for another term as governor.”
Wow, actually did not see that coming. Figured they’d have to drag his gropey ass out by impeachment.
Well it took him long enough.
The resignation doesn’t include any admission of guilt.
Good. Let’s move on.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo: "The best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to governing. And therefore, that's what I'll do."

He’s too full of hubris. He’s gonna blame everyone but his gropey self.
I can’t fucking believe it. I thought he would hand on and fight until the bitter end. Thank god he came to his senses and is resigning. This proves one big lesson for GQP. The Democrats dicipline their own.
And only months too late to be helpful. Great job, Groper. Take your shinebox with you.
Cuomo called the impeachment investigation into him “politically motivated” — but added that he was stepping down because he would “never want to be unhelpful in any way.”
I’m sure all 11+ women truly appreciated you being so helpful, Andy.
Cue Trump, with no sense of irony or shame, chiming in it’s about time a serial abuser of women got out of politics.
So a win-win!
I think courts will handle guilt/innocence phase just fine.
Handy Andy takes a walk.
He could’ve given the Dems a day to celebrate the infrastructure win, but it’s probably ok b/c the Dems are moving directly to debate the reconciliation bill and no GOP ‘soshulism’ propaganda is gonna make it through the Cuomo news cycle.
I thank Cuomo for saving a lot of lives in '20. He preached mask wearing every day from the podium at a time when no one else would. He has amassed an impressive legislative record as Governor. He has done a lot of things that Dems value as priorities from abortion to gun control to education.
He has done the right thing by resigning now. I was skeptical he would leave absent impeachment but when Melissa DeRosa, his right hand, quit, then I thought he was basically done. I didn’t want his sexual harassment allegations to turn into a national culture war about men getting cancelled for stuff that might’ve been ok even 10 years ago. The problem with these issues is that people personalize them to their own actual or hypothetical situations and then it devolves from there. By resigning now, he has taken a big issue out of the cultural discourse for the '22 campaign.
WHen WILL demonRATs ever TAKE responsiBiLITY for theiR heinous SEX crimeS like conservatiVES do?
It looks like there’s an earlier attempt by Cuomo to have investigations into his behaviour squashed.
The New Yorker piece also recounts a number of struggles between Cuomo’s office and Moreland Commission leaders, including how his office bit back when the independent commission got too close to his allies. “I saw them destroy people,” said Danya Perry, the commission’s chief of investigations. “And I did really fear that it could be me.”
To speak nothing of contrition. Literally, nothing. It was all good til they moved the goal posts on him.
.
I’m relieved it’s all finally finished. Done.
