Brands Cut Ties With Nashville Hat Shop That Advertised Anti-Vaxxer Star Of David Patches

Predictably, Gaskins then lashed out at those who criticized her use of the Star of David. These people cannot just say “I fucked up” without trying to deflect blame to someone else. Be an adult already and just own your mistakes.

Pretty soon ol’ Gigi’s store will be able to sell you any kind or color of hat you like as long as (to paraphrase what was said of Henry Ford’s Model T, a like-minded anti-Semite) it’s a baseball cap and Drumpf red.

… and by 2022, she’ll be running for office. Whining all the way. Unless one of those Jewish Space Lasers targets her …

Kind of a non-apology apology. Being against measures to protect public health is not equivalent to being marked for death in a gas chamber. She continues to defend the indefensible.

“In NO WAY did i intend to trivialize the Star of David or disrespect what happened to millions of people,” it read. “My hope was to share my genuine concern & fear, and to do all that i can to make sure that nothing like that ever happens again.”

To a certain extent, this nauseating garbage is true. I have no doubt that she really does see an equivalence because she appears to be a genuine sociopath. When it was average, sane people, then it was an issue of “the mob.” When companies that provide her their brand name and her livelihood spoke out THEN she was truly sorry.

That some people were offended. (IOW, sorry not sorry)

This is where the rubber has truly met the road. Steston doesn’t need her vile ass to sell their products and now, they are much better off without her.

Remember the county clerk in Kentucky who wouldn’t issue marriage licenses to same sex couples? She lost her position in the next election.

I assume this is partly a product of right wingers cocooned in the safety of Fox News, Newsmax, and Parler, blithely unaware of how appalling their statements and actions are to the majority of Americans. So they do stuff like this, and may actually be surprised at the blowback. Even so, there’s no excuse for this and I have no sympathy for anyone who thinks wearing a Star of David is appropriate or trivializes the holocaust.

And again, it’s a small business owner, presumably a person of some means, an education, and privilege who’s behaving reprehensibly. What exactly is she so mad about?

In NO WAY did i intend to do what it was obvious I was trying to do.

As the nation has a declining number of WWII era veterans as well as Holocaust survivors and their families in the future we’re sadly going to have to deal with idiocy like this.
What’s her next marketing gimmick? Irish hunger fries?

Consigned to the dustbin of history. Thankfully. But I’m sure she’s remembered by her 3 husbands. Or is it 4 now? I really don’t care, do you?

Except these sociopaths NEVER see their actions as mistakes. Always the victim, they were fighting for “truth”, “freedom” whatever repugnant thing they believe in dressed up as some kind of justification. It was those others who ended up destroying them…

Absolutely don’t. She’s welcome to as many husbands as she can persuade to marry her.

I would be just fine with some sort of badge that lets me know which of the yahoos are still not vaccinated, but certainly not that yellow star. Maybe just a tattoo on their forehead that just says Trumpstupid, so I will know to stay far away from them.

As I posted yesterday…

“ There are no Instagram posts from the day of the riots, but a photo posted two days later appears to show pro-Trump crowds gathered at the capitol. “Welcome to communist america. they keep taking this photo down,” the caption reads, indicating that the photo may have been posted earlier and removed. In a comment, the account added: “yes i took this picture and was proud to stand there!”

The person posting from the account does not identify themselves, but appears to be Gaskins, who owns and operates the shop. The posts are often written in first person, including stories about “when i first opened up [the store].”

Looking at the Instagram photo the star is poorly cut out, there are threads hanging off the edges because she didn’t bind the cut edges. I wonder how much she was charging for this poorly made shit of an idea?

From the Post story:

The company’s [HatWRKS] Instagram feed shows several posts expressing hostility and misinformation on vaccination, comparing wearing masks to government suppression of citizens. More than a dozen posts were marked by Instagram as false since November.
