Bolton Alleges Trump Lacked ‘Competence’ For Office In New Interview | Talking Points Memo

Was his ghost writer Captain Obvious?

The precise quote, no alleging, it’s a direct claim:

“I don’t think he’s fit for office. I don’t think he has the competence to carry out the job. There really isn’t any guiding principle that I was able to discern other than what’s good for Donald Trump’s reelection.”

You’ll just have to buy the book.

Hahahahahahahaha!

Well, perhaps his writing style leaves something to be desired, but the only question I’m interested in is: “Is it factual?”

Isn’t Bolton known for taking copious notes?

Bolton, pg 82: "On Monday morning, Trump called me about my appearances on two of the Sunday talk shows… I had been 'very good on television,' he said, but I needed to praise him more because 'there's never been anything like this before'… Trump said however, that he didn't" 1/ https://t.co/VRcMuP3Q0Y

Bolton “Alleges” Trump lacks competence.

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton ripped President Trump,… saying the president… had made reelection his sole focus.

That’s not true.

Chiselin’ Trump was also gunning for the “Noble” Prize.

I expect the “I hardly knew him” and “he wasn’t even that important to the administration” defense from Donald any moment now…

While I think the lawsuit to block the book is bogus under the Constitution (and a gross abuse of power by the AG to lick Trump’s boots) I wouldn’t mind at all if Bolton is denied the profits of his book. At the same time, I want the media to talk about the contents for weeks so we learn what Bolton knows…win, win!

Trump has responded with outrage

That’s got to be my favorite line in the article. As if he has more than one way that he responds to stuff…

One of the talking heads last night put forth the theory that Bolton expected to be called before the Senate as a witness in the impeachment trial. Boy I guess they showed Bolton what they thought of witnesses and evidence.

I too put Bolton in the war mongering asshole column, I guess he didn’t know that once he left/was fired then the Trump toadies didn’t want him talking.

Trump incompetent? !!!

I may have to retire to my fainting couch for a little lie-down before lunch, and try to regain what passes for my composure.
