Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) claimed this week that as many as 10 Republican senators have “very severe misgivings” about how Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is planning to run a pending Senate impeachment trial, according to The Hill.
I think there are all kinds of good things starting to happen. Impeachment and McConnell’s stupidity have caused great big cracks to appear in Trump’s support.
The McConnell plan is to avoid anything like a trial, and I must say I’m not at all confident, based on the record thus far, that Schumer will be able to outfox him.
And just imagine how much this is going to send Donnie into yet another paranoid TweetRage, trying to find out who the disloyal backstabbing GOP Senator’s are, and threatening the rest…
All the more reason Pelosi must keep the ball out of McConnell’s hands for much much longer, and only hand it over when ALL the focus and onus is on the Rs in the Senate. Now is not that time. The longer she withholds, the more news and investigative product comes out, the more articles she adds, the longer the Rs are left to twist…the better.
Sullivan said the process the House is using is more partisan than what presidents Clinton or Nixon faced.
“And right now I don’t see that process as being viewed as fair and even-handed,” he said in an interview last week.
Sullivan added his name to the resolution on Thursday, the day Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., announced it. Graham said Sullivan was the 46th to sign on.
