Bloomberg Video On Trans Rights Surfaces | Talking Points Memo

Other than the purity police, if this is the worst you can find, that’s not much more than a statement of fact (could argue about whether it’s “most” or not, sure).

Would we maybe like a more inclusive and open-minded electorate out there? Sure. But pretending that there’s not an issue about different social things is just putting your head in the sand.

That’s exactly what I mean…she’s statistically in second, and statistically tied for second choice. So is everyone else, but somehow she is the only one getting ignored when people talk about the race. Here’s hoping she has a barn burner of a debate performance, so the press has no choice but to talk about her before NV votes.

Biden is popular until people see him on the stump. The concept of Biden was popular - a strong daddy coming to save us. The reality is: he’s a cadaverous, awful candidate who is running as if he lost a bet.

The problem isn’t the facts he is presenting (it is true that it will be harder to attract some voters if you focus on LGBT issues over things like health care), it’s the framing, as he used the conservative framing, which is insulting to trans people. If he wants to run as the leader of the Democrats, he should not be calling trans people “men in dresses” or “it”; that’s neither accurate nor respectful.

Pete’s issues are already known, so am I looking for research on Warren or no.

Gee, I wonder who NBC/WSJ managed to leave out of that race. Oh yeah, the woman who’s in 3rd place. They keep trying to erase her. They’ve been working at it real hard too.

And here I thought it was going to be Bernie Bros who were the problem.

From the article:

But progressive activists argue that bold ideas like those championed by Sanders and Warren will bring out new voters, and others say ideology matters less than ground game. It’s a debate that’s playing out across the country, but the stakes are especially high in Texas this year where Democrats at the state level have a shot at redrawing the election maps that will keep them competitive.

Lotsa folks are saying lotsa stuff, but I’m not sure how interested I am in taking the advice of a bunch of terrified centrists from red states who haven’t won shit in a generation.

It’s possible to put a reasonably accurate dollar amount to the value of FOX News.

It is part of Fox Corporation (NASDAQ:FOXA), which was created earlier this year when Disney acquired the Fox motion picture operation and associated assets. Fox Corporation is 31% owned by the Murdoch family, and its total market capitalization as of close of business December 2, 2019 is $21.98 billion.

It’s an issue, because this is an ‘all hands on deck’ election.

The problem is, some of us saw it as such, before all of this dropped.

Under current law, Bloomburg couldn’t give more than $2,800. to any candidate. He’d have to give the money to a PAC or the party and he could run as many anti-Trump ads as he wants. And I hope he does, whoever the candidate turns out to be.

The candidates shouldn’t be focusing on healthcare as much as they do because it will be up to the Congress to decide on what future healthcare looks and it’s how ACA was passed. It looked quite different from Obama’s original proposal.

I’m waiting, and I think I’m going to be disappointed, for someone to talk about access to voting and R suppression where and when they do that. Or the importance in voting in droves because there are predictions right now that trumPP can slide through because of the Electoral College. Slamming each other incessantly isn’t informative, it’s pandering to the media horse race.

Well ok then
Still no excuse for the vanity campaign

…And if the biggest concern is that someone used a grammatically-correct term for when a gender isn’t defined as male or female and a bit of flowery language as a descriptor to accompany it…

I’d rather look at his record of actions, where it seems that he’s been good at expanding rights for the affected group.

Well, if you’re trans, and you stay home during the election because someone didn’t used your preferred gender pronoun… That’s a vote for the guy who would eliminate your rights, and you deserve what’s coming with 4 more years of a trump administration.

Same goes for every other group of people who doesn’t want their freedoms eroded.
