These days I’ll take any good news when I can get it and this is indeed good news.

Puzzling that Gorsuch went along with it, but better it wasn’t 4-5.

Huge win for LGBT rights.

That Roberts and Gorsuch joined the liberals for a 6-3 decision makes it all the more important.

This will cause a lot of heartburn among the bigoted GOP.
I, on the other hand, can’t stop smiling.

That’s good news!

I’m also guessing Justice Gorsuch isn’t going to be getting a Christmas card from The Federalist Society this year…

More good news
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us-supreme-court-snubs-trump-on-challenge-to-california-sanctuary-laws/ar-BB15vptT

June 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday handed President Donald Trump a defeat in his legal showdown with the most-populous U.S. state, declining to hear his administration’s challenge to “sanctuary” laws in California that protect immigrants from deportation.

The justices left in place a lower court ruling that upheld the bulk of three laws in the Democratic-governed state that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement authorities

This brings back memories of how conservatives slagged Roberts for ruling in favor of Obamacare: “We always KNEW he was a liberal!!”

It’s almost as if they want precedent to be a thing again. Or at least, they want an example they can point to when they’re back in the minority.

Two possible takeaways. First, that the Supremes now fully acknowledge LBGTQ rights. Second, that the Chief Justice and Gorsuch are anticipating a Biden victory, and want to defuse the movement to increase the number of Justices. Again a switch in time to save nine.

I think Gorsuch may be reading the tea leaves…

What does this say about the 3 “Justices” who voted to ALLOW this kind of blatant discrimination?

Let me guess: Alito, Thomas, and Kavanaugh, right? The 3 Opus Dei members.
Did they file a dissent? If so I’m sure it drips in self-righteous “Religious Oppression” justification for allowing blatant discrimination based upon sexual orientation due to the Stone Age Fairy Tales in their “Holy Scripture” (affirming that all other religion’s “holy scripture” is blasphemous garbage of course.)

Figures.

I am very bigly surprised.

Those three would bring back whites only signs if they could.

Love that it happened during Pride Month!

Good for Roberts and Gorsuch, who should nevertheless not be on the SCOTUS.

The Federalist Society doesn’t give a fuck about votes on LGBT issues. Election law, enabling voter suppression, and gerrymandering is what matters to maintain the minority rule.

They – Roberts and Gorsuch – could have chickened out and gotten away with it in the short term. They certainly knew how to – but history would not have been kind.

Excellent. Maybe this will give us the momentum to turn the tide on everything else.

I have to admit, Roberts & Gorsuch writing a majority opinion affirming LGBTQ employment rights was not on my 2020 Apocalypse Bingo card.
