WTF. I am so sick and tired of all this violence and death, all of this ignorance and all of this racism and bigotry. Just sick of it. I can’t imagine how anyone who is black has been so patient for so long, because I would’ve exploded long ago, and I’m ready to explode now, but explosive violence begets explosive violence, and you solve nothing until one party is crushed. That’s not the solution. Now we’ve got the racist in chief saying nothing worthwhile. Only fucking “law and order” dog whistles.

I’d ask Jesus to save me from the ignorance, racism, bigotry, violence and death, but Jesus isn’t going to fix our fucking mess. We’ve got to do it. We’ve got to get politicians everywhere to understand and change. We’ve got to elect leaders who fix stuff instead of placing us against each other for their political advantage. We have to take responsibility, recognize that the system is inhumane, and fix it. NOW.

Someone watched the GOP convention!

First thing I thought. When people recklessly wave guns at people peacefully walking past, when they endanger others’ lives for no reason and are charged for it, when people like that are made goddamn convention speakers, of course, of course, of course it’s going to embolden other vigilante wannabe idiots. God damn you, Trump. God damn you to hell.

Former PA resident here. Juniata PA, historically, has been Klan land. So, I’m appalled and not surprised. The racism of central PA remains as deep as it is lethal. It’s also bone ignorant, since many of these same residents had ancestors who fought for the Union. But, see toxic white supremacy…

If you missed it, try to see the comments from Jacob Blake’s mother (and father), asking for peace, praying for the police and their families, asking for justice… incredible dignity and grace.

Good to know that sunset towns are still a thing.

Why weren’t the armed, threatening Bundy terrorists shot for seizing government buildings in Idaho?

We don’t want Trump’s racism.

I just saw her (my god! the woman’s grace and her plea to people to look deep into themselves and try to help stop this carnage) and I saw the very last part of the video when the cop grabbed Jacob Blake’s shirt, put his gun up and start firing into his back!! I looked away, but I was screaming!

Effing cops. Something HAS to be done about these murderers. That’s what they are. Murderers.

In front of his children!!! Monsters.

Monsters.

Mattinpa, would you agree there are rural areas that are to be avoided in PA?

Too many guns, plenty of cheap beer and lots of good old racism.

Wow…the shotgun blasts were meant to terrorize the people marching, plain and simple. If it was just about being parked in the wrong spot, you go out and explain it to people…stay across the street, yell from your porch, whatever, and if they won’t move then you call the police out to give them a ticket. The thing you don’t do is walk out and fire off your shotgun and pistol to chase people off. The final pistol shots were over the heads of the protestors, you can hear the bullets whistle by.

Using a gun like that is illegal, if this wasn’t some white men in central PA they’d be in jail for doing what they did. Which pretty much proves the marcher’s point…even without shooting one of the protestors there should be an arrest and court case in process. Instead, it wouldn’t surprise me if the shooters were declared heroes by the Trump campaign.

“Pardon me” but I disagree.

There is a reason why Pennsylvania is often referred to as Philadelphia on one end, Pittsburgh on the other end and Alabama in the middle.

Oh, for sure. In particular I’d say the south-central area. You’d hardly think it was a Union state if you saw all the Confederate flags. Also the mountain areas—during the Democratic primary in '08 I remember seeing a swathe of districts that went for Hillary that pretty exactly overlaid the mountains. (Well, what we call mountains.) I remember thinking to myself that since those hills never seemed like bastions of feminism there must have been some other reason.

Now, some people swear by their sweet corn this time of year but I find it bland and watery.
