Didn’t I just see this discussion regarding Trump possibly running from jail?
Better to recognize those murderous thoughts than to ignore them.
How could she oversee cases if she’s locked up in another state?
lol, don’t be; it’s a message board, not the bar exam.
True, that. And, we sold our guns and rifles and ammo about a week ago. I still have fine knives and a great set of chisels, though. I keep everything nice and sharp with my Tormek grinder and honing strops.
What’s awful is these children could have these charges on their proverbial permanent record. Unless there are non criminal disclosure laws (ban the box) for things like job applications these fraudulent charges could be hanging over their heads. In the 80’s and 90’s during the heightened crime levels as well as the war on drugs a number of legislators pushed for laws to bar people even low level drug convictions from getting student loans.
Do we know this? I wouldn’t be surprised to see other counties jump on this gravy train. Cash + racism, a two-fer.
A guy by the name of Steve Zieger said:
You deal with your shit in Zen by sitting with it. By breathing right into it. You don’t try and ignore it with pleasant thoughts or lofty ideas, and you don’t try and bury it with solutions. You deal with it, and you work with it, one breath at a time.
I live that. It has helped me get through to my almost 70 years. That, and, No feelings are final.
The deep irony here is that the nexus of the crime that that the kids were accused of was a failure to intervene when they witnessed a wrongful act being committed by their peers. However, the injustice that followed was only possible because ADULTS failed to intervene when they witnessed and participated in wrongful acts committed and ordered by their peers and superiors.
But… This being a deep red county I am sure that Irony is just one more of those 3 syllable words that they don’t quite understand.
Company once had a potential customer from Murfreesboro, TN. We worked long and hard developing a process for them (Fluoro plastics, think Teflon).
Then they stiffed us and bought their material from DuPont. We may have still been Allied Chemical at the time. Our group got sold a few times and ended up with Solvay. Cranky Belgians.
This country has gone totally bonkers. There is no rule of law if this kind of thing can happen with impunity.
Juvenile records are not normally published unless you happen to be interviewed by the head of the CIA in Moscow. Even then it’s just humorous.
lol, don’t be; it’s a message board, not the bar exam.
And even then, you apparently get nine years and four do-overs.
Yesterday I went to Toronto’s art gallery for the first time in over 18 months. I took this photo because I was moved by the beauty of these two people viewing, discussing, appreciating the art work.
That’s all I want to add to the discussion.
The Photo Montage by Sandra Brewster is called Blur and depicts Tuku Mathews who is a local singer and performance artist
This situation is, unfortunately, more the norm than an exception. I worked in rural and urban counties in 2 different states, representing children in the “justice” system. The circumstances in both states was remarkably and disturbingly similar to what is described here. In one state, the racism and blatant double standards were so egregious, I quit and stopped doing the kind of trial work I’d been doing since I got my license. The last straw was when I was literally assaulted by a probation officer, in full view of everyone - court personnel, the parents of my client, attendees - in the hallway outside the courtroom. Instead of insisting that the white male face consequences for conduct that would have landed one of my clients in corrections for years, the prosecutor bullied my employers and made the entire matter disappear. In fact, the very same prosecutor in an attempt to intimidate me, coordinated with that same probation officer to file a bar complaint that was dismissed by the state bar. The clear message was that uppity negroes would be punished if they forgot their place and complained about injustice. The “justice” system in this country is so corrupt to its core - from the US Supreme Court to probation officers in podunk counties in the middle of nowhere - that it is impossible for me to imagine it ever changing.
A former co-worker is Vietnamese. After she had her son 15 years ago she invited me to his first birthday party. I was the only white person in the room and felt honored to be included, but it was a bit jarring. We still keep in touch.
Dad flew for Pan Am back in the the day so I’ve been lucky enough to visit about 30 countries. Diversity really is strength.
I am a believing Catholics so before this whole things started we had a ‘similar’ world view.
I don’t understand these people and I truly want Davenport to go to hell. I believe in it, to me it is a real place.
I bet she never committed a carnal “sin” in her life and thinks she is righteous.
GO TO HELL the REAL HELL the ONE YOU BELIEVE IN. I want the full deal from every little text of the Horrors of Hell I read in parochial grade school (the scare-the-hell-out-of-the-little-ones-phase).
I know this is not very ‘Christian’ of me but I literally cannot STAND one more person doing something like this is Christ’s name and being PROUD of it.
Can’t she lose her LAW LICENSE or something? At least.
This! Deep bow to you --gassho
No Justice, no Peace.

Back in the day before Roy Cohn cuddled up with the NY archdiocese, the Catholic Church was pretty much the only national institution opposing segregation. They excommunicated an entire Parish (political division, not church body) in Louisiana for setting fire to an integrated school.
