Birx Says CDC Guidelines Are ‘Still Being Worked On’ After Trump Shelved First Report

Dr. Deborah Birx, the coordinator of the White House’s COVID-19 task force, said on Thursday night that she and the White House are editing the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guide on reopening the economy after President Donald Trump’s administration nixed it the first time.

A total aside, but all her different scarves seem silly to me, but in reality they are just her and/or a woman’s version on all the different ties that men wear.

More like “I can’t figure out who to suck up to to keep my job”. Birx’s lack of integrity compared to Fauci is a thing to behold. #ettd.

Republicans are going to try to steal the election. This is not hyperbole – they have been engaged in voter suppression for decades and have now shown that they have no legal or ethical boundaries when it comes to maintaining political power.

We really need some kind of plan for how to respond to this. Currently the response of the left is to simply express outrage on cable television. Only fool would put their faith in institutions controlled by Republicans.

Sorry for being off-topic but it is extremely frustrating to hear people talk about how much they trust Bill Barr (prior to his confirmation), Robert Mueller, the Supreme Court, etc. All of those people/institutions will stand aside while the GOP throws out millions of ballots and claims victory.

“I like to believe that I’m a scientist, and I’ve been working with the CDC on the edits,” she told Cooper

Well, that depends. If you are a scientist doing science then you are a scientist.

If you are a politician doing politics then you are a politician.

Thinking she can keep the boundaries straight in this administration with Benadick Being’adick Donnie is rather remarkable.

“We’re working on simplifying the guidelines so the public can understand them. We’re dumbing them down so they are so dumb the public doesn’t see any reason to have them. I like to think I’m a scientist.”

In the United States, a governor is the chief executive officer of a state or a territory. The partisan affiliations of American governors are close to being evenly split among the fifty states. As of January 2020, there are 24 states with Democratic governors and 26 states with Republican governors. Additionally, three U.S. territories (American Samoa, Guam and the United States Virgin Islands) have Democratic governors, while one (the Northern Mariana Islands) has a Republican governor. Wanda Vázquez Garced of Puerto Rico is a member of the New Progressive Party, although she is also affiliated with the Republican Party.

My point in sharing this is that it is a dead heat, if one were going to assume the governor’s party affiliation would control which party the State would go for in a Presidential election.

Are there any Americans out there with a spine?

Trump is mentally sick and now he is costing us thousands of lives!

Dr Birx is a Trump suck up and she looks like an idiot just sitting there while Trump rambles on with his lies and ignorance in front of the world!

Birx and Fauce should stand up and resign and demand Mitch McConnell pass an emergency impeachment to save Americans from dying!

Trump must be removed! Our nation is crumbling!

Are you seeing relevant action being taken by Democratic governors or state legislatures?

They’ve only had 3 1/2 years to try to get this together. It’s a little late in the game to try to make meaningful changes now. All the bells were rung in 2015 and 2016. If that didn’t alert and motivate the Democrats about potential corruption coming down the pike nothing will.

My “open up” line/lie is facing some push back so let’s try it both ways, I’ll say “open”, you say “OK, but”…

I certainly wouldn’t be publicizing it.

So how much did you end up getting for that purported soul of yours, Deborah?

said on Thursday night that she and the White House are editing

This White House cannot be trusted to edit a laundry list.

And she knows it.

Birx also said that the edits are based on science, not politics

Edits based on science should be shared with other independent scientists for review. This is how science works.

Dr. Birx is on thin ice.

“I like to believe that I’m a scientist" I would also but I am having serious doubts about trusting her. Everything is being done with Trump looking over her shoulder and I doubt that the CDC and Trump’s advisors will come up with anything that he perceives as a threat to his re-election.

This sounds about right.

So … you imagine there are, in some Democratic legislatures, secret attempts to address the problem?

(Serious question.)

Hard to say without knowing her real motivations. I feel like she’s trying to keep her job but why. She doesn’t really know her stuff so she’s sucking up or she knows her job, she knows Trump is a shithead, and so she does this to keep him from firing her and putting someone in charge that doesn’t know their job and is a suck up? At this point I still feel like Fauci isn’t s suck up and hasn’t said anything that would indicate she’s no good so I’m thinking she knows her job. She just isn’t as good as Fauci at not looking like a suck up.

And that’s putting it mildly.

What she needs is help. It’s a difficult job.

Speaking of which:

Correct. It’s easy to think that the national Republican party is attempting to fix the election, because they are a nameless, huge entity. But it’s the states that control their elections. I’d like to see specifics around which particular states are going to steal the national election, and how.
