Birx Reveals ‘Very Uncomfortable’ Call With Trump After She Raised Alarms On COVID-19 | Talking Points Memo

Dr. Deborah Birx, who previously served as the White House’s coronavirus response coordinator under the Trump administration, recalled having a “very uncomfortable” and “very difficult” phone call with former President Trump after warning about widespread cases of COVID-19 nation wide during an interview on CNN set to air Sunday night.

Well, it’s a bit late now.

Dr. Scarfy - go away. Are you feeling guilty with over 530,000 Americans dead from Corona. You were a Trump enabler and you need to own it!

Your time to speak up and to protect our citizens was last year…now you’re merely engaged in CYA behavior and legacy damage control.

She was pretty good at providing cover for Trump.

CYA time. Should have spoken out then.

I’m thinking she came a hair’s breadth from being fired.
In this case the speak up instead of saving your job to work within the system probably applies though.
I’m not sure the spoken out meme exactly applies to this instance, however, since it sounds like the conversation was because she had spoken out.
All she really could have said was that Trump was undermining things, but that was common knowledge to anyone who was paying attention; and anyone else isn’t worth the effort anyway.
It’s also possible Trump spewed some sort of misogynistic BS.

So just another call with Trump then. Like his poll numbers, his interactions with people fall into a very narrow band ranging from disgusting to horrific.

Possible?

Dr. Birx, you are horribly and unacceptably too late to the garden party, aka the truth telling of Donald J. Trump’s corruption and lies.

Triangulating as usual. I saw it on CNN this morning and wanted to throw something at the TV.

She whined about how “uncomfortable” the call from Trump made her feel… poor baby… but she refused to say exactly what he said during the call. That would have been news. It would have added something to the history books. Instead she’s trying to have it both ways, an attempt to salvage her reputation without pissing off too many people in the GOP. She’s despicable.

Screaming about his poll numbers and re-election chances, no doubt. Everyone was colluding to harm his chances, from the vaccine manufacturers slow-walking the vaccine to the Deep State locking things down and hurting the economy.

“So then I thought, nah, it’ll be fine. I’m going scarf shopping.”

Just to be clear, Dr. Birx’s feeling “uncomfortable” and not speaking out caused unnecessary deaths.

She got a new position - why is she trying so hard to rehabilitate her image? haha

Nothing Brix says matters. What little she said and did obviously had no impact. Her revelations now only deepen the wound. Your media, including TPM, would serve Americans better by not exacerbating the pain.

Just a thought.

Edit: I should have written, ‘had little positive impact’

By her own admission, what little she said impacted over 450,000 Americans and their families, permanently.

Maybe, but personally the only one I think is really to blame in this is Trump, with the caveat of all the Republican congresspeople who enable him possibly being added.
Doesn’t matter what any of the scientists had said, things were going to run the exact course they did as long as he was in charge.
At least that’s my opinion.

But you chose to play the game Deborah. No one held a gun to your duct tape covered head did they?
