Birx has been playing it both ways—Feeding egos instead of dispassionately being the scientist in the room, assisting in wresting control of the Covid data from the CDC in order to control the narrative to feed those same egos—-she can’t reclaim her credibility now. She told these suckers the outlook was rosy. When you do a 180 you need to first acknowledge you were wrong. Fauci can’t pitch but he is a straight shooter—and they(she included) froze him out for politics.

One thing that Trump is great at is at inducing corruption, he may be an idiot for everything else, but he is good at guessing what a person covets, sometimes he uses it to expose and humiliate them like in the case of Mitt Romney, but many others have he has used to to do his corrupt biding and then discarded with their reputation shattered like Gordon Sondland and Jeff Sessions.
I don’t know what Dr. Deborah Birx wanted, but like many others she is getting shit and her reputation damaged beyond repair. And it is a shame because, I am told by a person that works in her previous outfit " President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief" that she had a legendary status there.
