I wonder if Seid will live long enough to regret his donations and support of the Christian school Hillsdale College? They’re the ones training the neo-Christian fascists.
More “Dark Money” at work. (If you have not read this book, I urge you to do so.) This movement is not a recent phenomenon, but has been around for years. Now, with incredible fortunes being made, many rich folks think the world should be run by them. It’s long past time that we identify this cancer on our democratic system, get rid of Citizens United and finally really reform our campaign finance system. Right now we have the best legislature money can buy; what’s wrong with this picture? Money talks, indeed, but there is no reason it should be the only voice heard.
Tudor Dixon is incredibly vapid and has really nothing going for her anyway. She wouldn’t make it even if abortion weren’t an issue. I’m thinking she’d rather maintain her “bona-fides” and go down on that ship rather than try to pivot - impossible anyway.

The Heartland Institute is a Chicago-based free market think tank and 501(c)(3) charity that has been at the forefront of denying the scientific evidence for man-made climate change. The Heartland Institute has received at least $676,500 from ExxonMobil since 1998 but no longer discloses its funding sources. According to ExxonMobil’s worldwide giving reports, it appears to have stopped funding Heartland among other climate change denial groups around 2007. The Union of Concerned Scientists found ( PDF) that “Nearly 40% of the total funds that the Heartland Institute has received from ExxonMobil since 1998 were specifically designated for climate change projects.”
What I want to know is why we allow these ridiculously wealthy, bigoted oligarchs to have so much power and influence over public policy? It is a national obscenity!
