You have to get up pretty early in the afternoon to do that.

I don’t know about the rest of the country, but here in Southern Arizona, Pulte Homes has a reputation for building crap.

Who was behind a $250K mystery donation to super PAC backing Ken Paxton?

Last year, a super PAC supporting Texas Senate hopeful Ken Paxton received a $250,000 donation from a man calling himself “Paul McLaren,” a supposed “entrepreneur” living in Plano, Texas.

But there is no “Paul McLaren” residing in Plano, and the address listed on the campaign finance record is for a rented mailbox in a strip mall.

The donor, it turns out, is a Texas businessman whose father was a well-known construction executive who received a pardon from President Donald Trump years after he pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return.

I’m beginning to think that Pulte is kind of a criminal. Shocking news, for this “administration” I know! Crooks and liars, all the way down. (That would be a great name for a political blog, no?)

Here it was either middling priced crap or solid but very expensive homes.

I haven’t heard much about them for a while, so I don’t know if they are active in our market anymore.

Allowing the President to fire a court-appointed U.S. Attorney would upend the framework created by the Constitution and the statutory framework, which together balances the President’s right to appoint and the Senate’s right to confirm. Allowing the President to fire a court-appointed U.S. Attorney also eliminates the incentive to nominate a candidate that can be conferred by the Senate—in other words, bypassing the requirement that the Executive and Legislative branches work together to nominate and confirm the U.S. Attorney.

This decision seems to lean heavily on original intent.
Does that mean the smart money is on this SCOTUS putting a stay on the decision from the shadow docket?
[Note: it seems well reasoned from my NAL perspective.]

I have a feeling Pulte’s under-bussing will be especially entertaining. Dude has all the finesse of a newborn giraffe.

Does the same remark from J.D. Vance hold true for his wife?

has attempted a reinvention as a kind of MAGA intellectual. A key aspect of that has been policing who is truly American. He devoted much of his speech at Republicans’ midterm convention to discussing his view of the American “birthright,” and has articulated the idea that those whose ancestors have been in America for longer have greater claim to it.

I still feel Vance’s ultimate goal is to be a primary with Turning Point. Or similar. If he inherits the oval, he seems ill prepared for the mess Donnie leaves behind and doesn’t appear invested in it beyond lip service. He is looking for his follow up gig.

There are two words that definitely should never butt against each other in the same sentence – MAGA and intellectual.
