The second half of the Democratic candidates, relatively more uniform in policy than their night one counterparts, took the stage Wednesday to tussle on everything from criminal justice reform to deportations.
He also returned fire to Booker, Harris and Castro. Was his defense perfect? No, but defense is more so adaptive and when Booker had to explain his previous hires, that encounter was a draw.
These group of D prez candidates should highlight ALL of the ineptitude, incompetence, and idiotic decision of Trump administration and NOT go after each other thus giving the Rs materials to attack the D primary winner!
Last night I didn’t think the candidates had enough time to answer but TONIGHT I think the candidates are wasting their time with petty insults. Gillibrand and Harris are screaming at Biden and ‘demanding’ a purity test when NEITHER one of those ladies would be where they are without people like Biden…but BY GOD they are pissed off he didn’t do MORE MORE MORE. Stop.
About the only takeaway from these first two debates is that there are only a small number of serious candidates, plus a couple of very promising future stars, a few nice but not weighty enough pols, a couple of “who the f is that” candidates, and one very angry, cranky old crackpot yelling at clouds.
True story — I once rode in an elevator with James Spader. We got on the same elevator in the lobby of a hotel. He got on first and asked what floor I wanted. I told him, and with a cool smile and a cooler nod of the head, he pressed the button. We rode in silence, and the elevator stops, the doors open, and I realize that I told him the wrong floor, but one does not ask James Spader to press elevator buttons twice, and if James Spader sends you to a certain floor, that is the floor where you get off the elevator.
