Former Ambassador to the Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch took the stand Friday to tell the House Intelligence Committee about being shoved out of her posting after Rudy Giuliani and his cronies concocted a successful smear campaign against her.

He also said:
“It’s really sad when you see people not allowed to ask questions,” Trump said about the hearing today of ex-ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch. “I think it’s considered a joke. It’s a disgrace what’s happening.”
He said this in a tweet, instead of in a, you know, press conference, where people are allowed to ask questions.

I get the impression that today’s testimony will have a lot more impact on public opinion than Wednesday’s testimonies did. Impeachment is a political process, not a legal process, and Yovanovich told stories that most people will relate to far more than did Wednesday’s witnesses.
Bad foreign policy, obvious corruption and endangering U.S. interests abroad should matter more than it does, but nobody likes a bully, so that’s the story that will stick.
I have to say, the Democrats have done a great job. Unlike the talk show and showboaters on Judiciary, where the hearings were a joke, the Democrats have stayed on target. Just listening to Raja Krishnamoorthi who did for the second hearing in a row a great job of pulling things together as the last questioner
It gives me comfort that as the Democrats move forward they will start to move the needle. They have done a very good job starting off of laying out what was at stake, and putting a good face on what happened.
Adding a P.s. Schiff just nailed it at the end. He is going to be making soundbites like this at the end every time, using his last word. Really put the right spin on what this all means.

And the depositions of the additional witnesses are just going to add to the evidence that Lindsey and the rest of the Republicans do not want to hear and will refuse to thoughtfully consider, as required by their oath to the Constitution and country (which, of course, is superseded by their oath to Trump and party).
Time and again it has been emphasized how the State Dept left Yovanovitch to twist in the wind, steadfastly refusing to voice support.
