Yes, a while back Vanderbilt pres said that the Athletic money and the academic money would no longer be separated, just one pool.
Most universities with big conference teams have a separate entity that collects the money for and from sports and logos licensing etc.
At a place like Alabama or Florida or Texas, the athletic side is enormous and does not help the academic side much financially.
This was revolutionary.
