GOP Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate and state senator Doug Mastriano, a Big Lie guy who organized a bus trip to the Trump rally that preceded the Capitol attack, has been complying with the House Jan. 6 Committee’s subpoena.
Good. Let’s hope that he’s feeling a tinge of worry, especially about how this will play in his upcoming race for governor.
Never forget that if this guy becomes governor of Pennsylvania, he’s already more-or-less promised that he’ll make sure that Pennsylvania’s electoral votes (whatever the popular vote) go to Trump or whatever Trumper who’s the Republican candidate for president.
I expect him to lie, obfuscate, prevaricate, and pound the table in self-righteous fury.
In his mind it is what Jesus would do.
Let’s hope he flames out soon.
The court challenges to any election under his thumb need to be written now, but this magat is likely going to lose the general. Trump’s picks aren’t faring so well.
There’s a need to dig deeper to learn about Mastriano’s and his attorney’s interpretation of “official acts,” etc. They may very well believe that putting up an “alternative” slate of electors was within his purvue as a state legislator. Or that, communications from Eastman, Guliani, etc. also fall into officeal territory. So, pointed questions about that are important, as well as whether and what communications with Eastman and others, etc. also.
The attorney has a law license to protect, so there’s a need to dig in and learn about his interpretations. Attorneys are well versed at parsing the language and making their own interpretations, prepared to argue in favor of their interpretations even if they are on shaky ground. It is the art of being able to respond. When pressed with the correct questions, however, and when they run out of answers (no matter how shaky), they are left stripped bare and then have to get down to brass tacks.
So, this is just a first salvo from Mastriano and his attorney. Because he’s running for governor of PA, we deserve to have the correct questions put to him so we can then drill further down on what sorts of communications he received (whether or not he responded) regarding the attempts to overthrow the election.
This Pennsylvanian is really hoping you’re right. I absolutely despise Mastriano. I mean, you couldn’t have two candidates any more diametrically opposed than our Dem candidate AG Josh Shapiro and this jackass.
It is interesting that all these “christians” seem to think god blesses everything they do, the more dishonest the better? I am always grateful to learn of another poll showing how their numbers are cratering.
