Pete is one of those folks who’d excel wherever you put him, I’m just glad he’s being put in a cabinet position. However, this makes me question whether Doug Jones has been given the nod for AG. Just as we were recently told that Pete was going to be Ambassador to China, it was also “leaked” that Jones would be AG. I question whether that was a red herring too.
Buttigieg won the Iowa Caucuses
He got slightly more SDEs than Sanders (26.2 to 26.1) but Sanders got more raw votes (45,652 to 43,209).
Uh oh, Newsmax just went DEEP STATE!
“ride him over”?
I first met Mayor Pete at a bi-partisan symposium in Indianapolis 4-5 years ago. The symposium was about good government: getting real stuff done that matters to people … clean water, good roads, good schools. I knew immediately that he would hit the national stage sooner or later.
The final message he offered was that too few elected officials in Washington have any real experience getting real stuff done in real towns for real people. I’m sure that’s what Biden has in mind. Pete will be terrific.
Add thoughtful, highly intelligent, an excellent communicator - able to shut down Fox New talking heads without raising his voice - and deeply committed to the need for bold climate change initiatives. I think this choice makes a lot of sense.
Even Forbes likes him.

thanks, now i have to mop coffee off my keyboard.
Yes, it was. Presumably because there was nothing in it for him.
Insert joke about a “wide load” here.
WTF??? How did that happen?
He’s a roads scholar.
Logical move for both Pete and the Dems.
My feeling, since first seeing him in action, has been that Buttigieg was a potential president in training, who needed to fill out his resume and gain experience in the national level before moving onto the center stage. Also, sad to say, some people may need to be brought to the point of accepting his sexuality as a given that isn’t threatening or disqualifying. He’s shown remarkable facility with this effort so far, so I’m hoping for the best.
Pete is one of those folks who’d excel wherever you put him
Including in South Bend?
Light years better than Rahm, however.
I agree, but are we thus damning Buttigieg with faint praise?
You are a Welsh card
Love that Pete will be in the Administration.
Oh, and OT, but news of The Crazy in Houston:
