Polly Lt. Governor want a cracker?
Another thing that concerns me is that some counties in Pennsylvania have already stated that they will not start counting any mail-in ballots until Wednesday morning (even though they are legally allowed to start counting them at 7:00 am on Tuesday morning.) So after the polls close at 8:00 pm, this could give us lopsided results since these counties will have only counted the election day in-person votes.
If the early count shows Trump ahead, he would not hesitate to claim that he won Pennsylvania and then try to stop the count.
What calms my fears is that Philadelphia will start counting their mail-in ballots at 7:00 am on Election Day…so the results could show that Biden is ahead from the beginning.
The PA Secretary of State is urging all the counties to start counting at 7:00 am on Tuesday.
He can “claim” all he wants; he does not get to count the votes. While I don’t discount the possibility (probability?) that he will try to tie things up in court, my hope is that the margin for Biden will make any such complaints moot.
I didn’t check every one, but I don’t think any of the counties mentioned in the article went for Clinton. He won both Beaver & Luzerne by 20 pts., so counting them late would probably help Biden.
NC tabulates their early votes and mail-in ballots as they come in so they can be put into the totals as soon as the polls close. The NC votes will bear watching because they will be an indicator of what is going to happen in the other battleground states.
I know that Governor Wolf and the state’s Democrats wanted that, but the Republicans control our senate and house.
I am driving my ballot to the York County Board of Elections this afternoon. My wife took hers there yesterday. They won’t accept a mail-in ballot from anyone other than the registered voter on the envelop. We’re being told here in PA that it’s too late to return your ballot by mail if you want it counted.
I’ve had a running email exchange with my state senator. She cannot explain to me why NOT counting every vote cast by a registered voter is “protecting the integrity of the election”. I told her that’s just a euphemism for voter suppression. The fact that it’s happening in a coordinated way in all republican-led state houses across the country is proof.
And speaking of Pennsylvania:
Good thing he isn’t president.
Let’s not forget fear: when Billy’s gone, there’s no telling what charges await America’s mayor, at the least, from his dalliance with Lev and Igor and romp through Eastern Europe.
Allow me to explain my reasoning here.
Trump got 4.7 million votes in 2016. Hillary got 3.9 million, with another 400k worth of dumbasses burning their votes on protest candidates.
Here’s my hypothesis: Trump basically maxed out his vote in 2016. It was him or Hillary, and way too many people fucking hate Hillary. He got more votes than Mitt Romney in 2012, more than John McCain in 2008, more than Dubya in 2004 and 2000. He’s unlikely to improve on that vote total in 2020, certainly not by much. Spot him 5 million total votes this time, just to be safe.
We’re going to have 9.5 million votes in the bank by the end of today, when early voting ends. That vote is likely to be disproportionately Dem, but probably not by a lot. Blue and Red counties are mostly early voting at pretty much the same rates, so far as I can tell.
And people are still gonna vote in person on Election Day. If it’s a million additional votes, that brings us to 10.5 million total. That’s 5 million for Trump, 5.5 million for Not Trump. 400,000 people are not going to burn their ballots again this year, but even if you assume they do, that’s a 100k margin for Joe.
I’m telling you, Joe is gonna win Texas.
“heading”? Rudy is so far below the bottom he’s finding crude oil deposits.
An equally fulsome reply would be to withhold information on partial results until one candidate’s victory is assured. That way, Donnie has to take his chances to interfere with the tallying.
Not to mention the syphilis.
That’s not voter suppression. Preventing votes from being counted is ballot theft. Voter suppression is what they do on the front end to try to stop people from voting at all, what they are doing on the back end is trying to steal those votes. Its like they are going to voting places and taking a sledge hammer to machines and saying its for voter integrity.
Our Leader is Great and Magnanimous. As long as the ahem Governor shows appropriate respect, asks politely, bends the knee Presidential largesse will almost certainly be forthcoming, and more, he will be allowed to live.
I’m bemused by the assertion that Dumpty’s reference to having a vaccine by election day was “arbitrary “. Choosing the election as a milestone date was about as far from arbitrary as one could imagine. He lied, yes, and hoped a vaccine would deliver him votes. But “arbitrary “ it wasn’t.
Because the fact is, the Second Amendment does not protect people who claim to be in a militia and have not been summoned by the governor.
Militia is not something you get to be by saying it — it’s something you get to be when governmental authority summons you
I like this guy!
If you want to dress up like GI Joe and claim you are protecting the polls when we all know what you’re really doing is intimidating voters, you’re getting locked up.
I really like this guy!
