President Joe Biden is slated to meet with 10 Republican senators on Monday to discuss the lawmakers’ push for a $600 billion COVID-19 package that would dramatically shrink down Biden’s sweeping $1.9 trillion proposal, per the White House’s daily schedule.
Don’t listen to their malarkey, Joe. Tell them you didn’t become President to waste time with that malarkey, tell them they’re malarkeyheads if they think you will, and then tell them if they won’t make a real-world deal then they can go eat malarkey.
I think the fact that President Biden is meeting with the R senators today—and is not letting this drag out—means that he will politely give them a few minutes to make their case and then will move forward without them. Everyone knows their plan is to string Biden along and then withdraw their support at the last minute. It couldn’t be more obvious.
Joe to the GOP - “I’ll give you a chance, but only one chance, to negotiate in good faith with Chuck and Nancy. If you reach a deal by Friday, great. Otherwise, I’m going full speed ahead.”
All theater to get Manchin and Sinema onboard for the reconciliation bill.
Biden can say he tried working with the GOP, but their demands were unreasonable. Better yet if he can get one (or more) of the Senators coming out of the meeting complaining about Biden’s counteroffer being too “generous”.
Reconciliation? Are you sure? Joe Manchin thinks it’s an affront for the VP to even give a speech supporting Biden’s plan in WV. And how dare no one at the WH clear it with him!
This fat, steaming turd of a democrat is going to have a lot of fun screwing over Biden’s agenda and ensuring his true party retakes both houses.
“Susan, you guys have pulled this stunt before. It’s a bunch a malarkey. I’m not playing your Charlie Brown football game. My credibility’s on the line here. Give me break. You guys are offering peanuts! C’mon man!”
That sounds like a good plan to me. They don’t want to negotiate, it is either their plan or Biden won’t get their support, which he doesn’t need. If the whole package goes through, the US should be in good shape with COVID and the economy by June or July, which they want to avoid at all costs.
