Biden Thinks There Should Be ‘More Limitations’ On Debate Interruptions | Talking Points Memo

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he supports a recent rule change by the Commission on Presidential Debates that will mute candidates’ microphones to allow for uninterrupted answers during his final debate with President Donald Trump before the election.

I believe Donnie will walk away from this so it doesn’t matter.

Ah…the voice of reason.

Thank you Future President Biden!

His handlers REALLY don’t want him to. It will definitely be an interesting spectacle. I refuse to call it a debate.

Well I’m sure that Tio Loco will not find another way to ignore the rules, he’s known for his adherence to fair play. Learned it from his dad, I suppose. /s

Mr. Trump is going to show up because he knows he is losing and can’t stand the idea of ceding the spotlight to anyone else. Seeing him shout into a muted mic will be quite a spectacle!

Donald is gonna bring a straw to shoot spitballs because he is 100% that childish.

“My guess is he’s kind of signaling that it’s all gonna be about personal attacks,” Biden said

Seems legit. We’d all like to know why Hunter Biden is conspiring with the Chinese to abduct children and sell them into the sex slave market, eliminate health overage for pre-existing conditions, and make suburban housewives listen to rap.

Biden will respond to the questions, look into the camera and speak to America. Trump will stare at Joe not answer the question and will attack the Biden family especially Hunter.

With respect, I sort of disagree with Biden. Fundamentally, adherence to rules requires good faith. You can’t create a set of rules that can fully fence around bad faith. You can only expose bad faith and let voters reject it.

Trump’s interruptions help Biden more than Trump. Luckily each 15 minute segment will still have 11 minutes for Trump to attempt to “dominate”!

You just freed up my Thursday evening.

So maybe Joe should bring an elephant gun.

Debates are like a football game (or pick whichever sport you like). There are rules, and adherence to those is the only thing that makes it a football game and not a free-for-all.

Would anyone still watch football if one team just decided to kick to itself, then run through the bleachers off the field, hit the endzone from the back and declare it a touchdown? (Okay, yeah, we probably would… but still)

Trump is a failed entertainer and even greater failure as President. He is undeserving of the office, is served by hack enablers, and thrives on being divisive. Biden, on the other hand, demonstrates the qualities needed for leadership, surrounding himself with political professionals, and putting the “United” back into the United States of America.

Anything featuring Trump moving his lips is “Must Not See” TV.

Or you can hint that you’re thinking of including bad faith in your new administration.

My expectation agrees with Biden’s assessment: Donnie won’t respond to any of the questions he’s asked but will, instead, use his time to promote the Joe and Hunter story.
For Drumpf, there’s no point in being the beneficiary of Russian disinformation if he’s not going to make the most of it, particularly if the establishment media won’t touch it.

But enough about the New England Patriots. :drum:
