I admit that I stopped following what was going on w/boosters earlier this spring. They said 2nd boosters were available for people 50+. Have they changed that at this point? Is it now available to all ages?
I’m a bit torn about what to do, since I was just under the age cutoff I decided to not think about it since we were headed into summer and I figured it would be better to wait until the fall for the booster anyway. But now they’re expecting an omicron specific booster this fall, and the current booster doesn’t seem to do much for too long anyway. OTOH, a bunch of my friends just got infected at an outdoor gathering, so maybe a booster now is worth it? I just don’t want to get one now if they then say it’s too soon to get the omicron booster when that’s available.

I am 70, got exposed 9 days ago, started having symptoms 3 days later, tested positive on day 4 of exposure, had 2 bad days of headaches, coughing and fatigue and today feeling great although feeling tired and still testing very positive. I will isolate for the full 10 days and will be good to go. No additional treatment required beyond ibuprofen, Tylenol and key lime pie (the only thing that tasted decent).
I will never be convinced that Trump did not try to infect Biden at the first debate. If you watch it with the sound off, he looks like he is aiming all of his spittle flying ranting straight at Biden and, if you recall, he was quite uncontrollable the entire hour.

My best response is a shrug and I don’t mean that sarcastically. I got the second booster because I was slated to attend a big indoor event that I couldn’t avoid and where I would offend the hosts if I attended masked. Odd to say that, yes, but that’s how it is these days. Even not ring wingers are tired of it all and heaving deep sighs at Debbie Downers. So I timed my booster for maximum protection for the party. But I don’t know how protected I am now anymore.
Still, the guidelines say to get it so I’m not at all sorry I did. And I have to believe it does continue to protect at least a little – even after the covid binding antibodies begin to wane. And a little’s better than nothing.
